SPENCERVILLE — In a rematch of the last two sectional championships, Miller City and Spencerville met to open the boys soccer season Tuesday evening at Spencerville high school.

VAN WERT — In the regular season, Miller City beat Leipsic by 24 points but in the postseason rematch, the Wildcats needed a balanced offensive attack, strong free throw shooting and a strong second half defensive effort to fend off the Vikings 57-47 in the Division IV sectional semifinal Tuesday.

OTTOVILLE — Miller City and Ottawa-Glandorf earned Division III girls soccer semifinal victories Thursday.

MILLER CITY — Miller City’s Megan Ellerbrock was in a zone when she went to the penalty-kick line.

CONTINENTAL — Coming into the contest against Miller City, Continental had won four straight with four shutouts. Miller City had won three straight with three shutouts so it is no surprise that the contest between these Putnam County Conference rivals ended 0-0 Saturday.

OTTOVILLE — Ottoville prepared for Miller City and it paid off with a 3-1 win in a key Putnam County League Clash Thursday night. The Big Green scored a 25-19, 25-17, 20-25 and 25-22 victory.
