LIMA — If there is one thing Lima Senior is not going to miss in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference is playing Toledo Central Catholic in football. Toledo Central Catholic downed the Spartans 56-0 in the final conference clash between these two teams Friday.

Lima Senior’s best offense was its defense but that was not enough to overcome the Spartans’ offensive inconsistencies and penalties as they fell to Oregon Clay 42-14 in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference clash Friday.

Two weeks ago, Lima Senior ended its three-year winless drought in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference with a victory against Toledo Central Catholic. But since that victory, the Spartans have failed to maintained that momentum and they dropped their fifth consecutive match to Fremont Ross, 25-10, 25-16 and 25-14 in a TRAC clash Thursday.

BATH TOWNSHIP — Bath found a way.

LIMA — Lima Senior came out in its National guard green camouflage uniforms.

Without fail every coach talked to prior to the season had the same goal and that is to win their respective league or conference crown.

Alphonso Townsend is optimistic this is the year Spartan football reverses the trend.

LIMA — Sara Burnett had a pair of goes and an assist as Delphos St. John’s opened its girls high school soccer season with a 5-0 victory Tuesday against Lima Senior.
