PREP ROUNDUP: Kalida delivers shutout to LCC
Comments 0 | Recommend 0LIMA - Chelsea Kahle and Sam Edwards each scored a goal for Kalida as the Wildcats beat Lima Central Catholic 2-0 in a girls soccer match Wednesday at Lima Stadium.
With play bunched up at midfield, both teams struggled to get shots. LCC had just six, while Kalida had nine.
Kalida keeper Stephanie Kortokrax had four saves in the win. Her counterpart, Kelly Mulcahy, had six saves.
Volleyball
DAYTON CHAMINADE-JULIENE 3, MINSTER 0: The Wildcats feel in three straight games, 25-20, 25-17 and 25-18. Erica Fullenkamp had 10 kills and four aces for Minster, while Ellen Gruber had 12 assists and Kara Monnin had 12 digs.
DELPHOS ST. JOHN'S 3, SPENCERVILLE 0: No other information was available.
Boys Soccer
INDIAN LAKE 4, DAYTON STEBBINS 0: Alex Contner had two goals, and Eric Phelps and Matt Schultz each added one, as Indian Lake blanked Stebbins. The Lakers had 12 shots on goal.
Lance Minnich had one save for Indian Lake.
Boys Golf
UPPER SCIOTO VALLEY 183, RIVERSIDE 205, RIDGEMONT 231: Wes Krummrey fired a match-best 40 to lead Upper Scioto Valley to the Northwest Central Conference tri-match win. Krummrey had four pars, one birdie, three bogeys and a double bogey at Kenton's Veterans Memorial course.
Tommy Prater had a 43 and Bradley Pickford a 49 for USV (15-6, 5-1 NWCC).
Kyle Hughes had a 51 to lead Ridgemont.
OTTOVILLE 163, BATH 187: Troy Markward turned in a 1-over par 37 at Delphos Country Club to earn medalist honors and help lead Ottoville to a non-league win. Alex Odenweller came in with a 40 and Tim Cramer added a 42 for the Big Green.
For Bath, Matt Holt had a 41 and Matt Hughes a 42.
Girls Tennis
WAPAKONETA 4, BLUFFTON 1: Heather Wells, Ricki Oen and Ashley Beach swept the singles matches to help even Wapakoneta's overall record at 3-3 with the non-conference win. They dropped only six games.
SHAWNEE 5, LIMA SENIOR 0: Lauren Rovner won at first singles 6-1, 6-0 and kick started the sweep for Shawnee in its non-league victory. Amanda Lawson won at second singles, 6-0, 6-2, and Melina Mate took the win at third, 6-0, 6-1.
