Ohio State's Pryor gets more playing time early against USC

LOS ANGELES - Those who wondered if Ohio State coach Jim Tressel was holding back some things offensively in OSU's first two games got a quick answer early in the first half of Saturday night's game at Southern California.

Starting with Ohio State's second possession, quarterbacks Todd Boeckman and Terrelle Pryor alternated plays within possessions.

In the first two games, the two quarterbacks switched only at the start of an offensive possession.

NO PENALTY: USC cornerback Shareece Wright was in the starting lineup despite being charged with felony resisting a police officer at a party in Colton, Calif., about 50 miles east of Los Angeles last week.

CELBRITIES ON THE SIDELINES: Here is a partial list of the celebrities and athletes who got sideline passes issued by USC for Saturday night's game:

Jamie Foxx, Denzel Washington, Nick Lachey, Christian Slater, Henry Winkler, Dick Butkus, Isiah Thomas, Michael Strahan, Eddie George, Greg Oden, Amare Stoudemire, Anthony Munoz, Ronnie Lott, Marcus Allen, Charles White, Sam Cunningham, Rodney Peete, Sean Salisbury and Todd Marinovich.

BIRTHDAY PLANS: Every year on his birthday, USC coach Pete Carroll tries to throw a pass that carries more yards than his age.  He turns 57 on Monday.

Last year Carroll reported that his throw crossed 56 yards with a few yards to spare.

NOT ALL ABOUT BEANIE: Jim Tressel might have become the center of attention at Ohio State's walk through at the Los Angeles Coliseum on Friday when he announced that tailback Chris "Beanie" Wells would not play on Saturday.

He wasn't the only center of attention, though. Ohio State's managers had their pictures taken with ABC-TV sideline reporter Erin Andrews there also.
