Ohio State notebook: Wisconsin keeps going for the record

MADISON, Wis. - Recorded music replaced the suspended Wisconsin band at Saturday night's game.
The entire band was banned from performing at the game Friday for the hazing of some band members by other band members.
The suspension brought to mind the often-banned, often-disciplined Stanford band. The Cardinal band's problems came mainly from questionable choices in their halftime shows, including driving a white Ford Bronco around the field with simulated bloody handprints on it during a game against O.J. Simpson's alma mater, USC.
LONG MEMORIES: When Ohio State went to its locker room after its pregame warm-ups, several Wisconsin fans sitting above the tunnel the Buckeyes ran into were seen doing the University of Florida's "Gator Chomp."
PULLING NO PUNCHES: One of the announcers on Wisconsin's radio network, remembering the nine sacks Ohio State had last season against Wisconsin, said early in the game, "The good news offensively for Wisconsin is that Vernon Gholston is no longer on the field."
REHRING AT NEW POSITION: Ohio State offensive lineman Steve Rehring, returning from a foot injury, spent some time at offensive tackle after playing guard the rest of the season.
NOT THE ONLY SHOW IN TOWN: Ohio State and Wisconsin playing football wasn't the only big draw in Madison last week.
The World Dairy Expo drew nearly 70,000 people to its five-day run, which ended Saturday night.
STREAKS: Wisconsin came into Saturday night's game with a streak of 16 straight victories at home. The Badgers also had won 11 consecutive night games and 21 of their lat 22 under the lights.
WHO KEEPS TRACK OF THIS STUFF?: Wisconsin's offensive tackles, 6-foot, 8-inch Gabe Carimi and 6-foot, 7-inch Eric Vanden Heuvel are the second-tallest starting tackles in NCAA Division I college football.
