SOFTBALL

Bath wins Eastside Classic

Bath defeated Eastside High School (Ind.) 6-2 in the championship of the Eastside Classic. Bath defeated South Bend Adams (Ind.) 4-1 in the semifinals.

In the win over Eastside, Shelby Snyder struck out nine and allowed two hits to get the win. She also had two doubles. Stephanie Saunders also doubled.

In the win over Adams, Saunders went 2-3 for Bath (16-5) while pitcher Amanda Ricker fanned seven for the win.

Lincolnview, Leipsic split

Lincolnview defeated Leipsic 7-1 in the opener of a doubleheader, but the Vikings rebounded for a 2-0 victory in the second game. Kela Fries got the win in the opener while Laura Longstreth doubled.

Dani Mangas got the pitching win for Leipsic (8-12).

Parkway sweeps Fort Loramie

Emily Crowell went 3-5 with two triples for Parkway (10-5) in an 11-4 victory in the first of two games against host Fort Loramie. The Panthers won the second game 3-0.

In the first game, Megan Ketchum doubled twice and singled twice and Abbea Hoehamer doubled and tripled. Courtney Davis went 2-4 with two runs scored.

Emily Crowell, Theah Bourelle and Courtney Davis each doubled in the nightcap for Parkway (10-5).

BASEBALL

Parkway takes two

Parkway defeated Fort Loramie 11-1 and 9-2 in a doubleheader. Jensen Painter allowed just four hits and struck out seven in the first game while Levon Archer went 3-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Derik Snyder and Drew Lugginbill each homered in the second game.
