Tuesday's prep roundup: Jefferson moves on to sectional finals

LINCOLNVIEW - Delphos Jefferson knocked off Ottoville 25-22, 29-27, 25-11, 25-23 in a Division IV sectional tournament volleyball match at Lincolnview on Tuesday. Jefferson advances to play Northwest Conference foe Crestview in the sectional semifinals Saturday.

Kristen Klausing had 32 digs for Jefferson (16-6), Bridget Culp had 14 kills and Mallory Wilson had 15 assists and 10 blocks.

DEL. ST. JOHN'S 3, LINCOLNVIEW 0: Delphos St. John's won the Division IV sectional match at Lincolnview 25-21, 25-9, 25-7. St. John's will play Kalida at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Stacy Giessler had 9 kills for Lincolnview (5-18) while Paige McClure added 16 assists.

TEMPLE CHRISTIAN 3, RIDGEMONT 1: Haley Sutton had 9 kills and 12 assists as Temple Christian won the Division IV sectional match at Upper Scioto Valley. Temple Christian will play Ada at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Erika Beals had 8 kills and 12 digs for Temple Christian (12-8) while Krista Good had 9 aces and 11 assists.

BLUFFTON 3, ALLEN EAST 2: Mariah Welch's 12 kills led Bluffton to a 25-20, 24-26, 23-25, 25-19, 15-12 Division III sectional win at Lima Senior. Bluffton (7-14) advances to play LCC at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Taylor Wenger had 9 kills and 3 blocks for the Pirates, Brittany Schroeder had 8 aces and 25 digs and Sarah Stratton had 27 assists.

LIBERTY-BENTON 3, SPENCERVILLE 1: Liberty-Benton won the Division III sectional match at Lima Senior 12-25, 27-25, 25-19, 25-19. Liberty-Benton will face Columbus Grove on Saturday.

MILLER CITY 3, HOLGATE 0: Miller City defeated Holgate 25-14, 24-15, 24-12 in a Division IV sectional match at Patrick Henry. The Wildcats will Leipsic at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Marci Wenzinger had 25 assists for Miller City, Dana Otto had 14 kills and Alli Riepenhoff had 5 digs.

MINSTER 3, PERRY 0: Minster won the Division IV sectional match 25-14, 25-15, 25-14 at New Bremen. Minster will take on New Bremen on Saturday.

FORT RECOVERY 3, NEW KNOXVILLE 1: Fort Recovery won the Division IV sectional match at New Bremen 25-12, 25-22, 13-25, 25-21. Morgan Reineke had 12 digs and 17 kills for New Knoxville, Casey Horstman had 21 assists and Taylor Elshoff had 10 digs and 8 kills. Fort Recovery will play Marion Local at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Boys Soccer

CORY-RAWSON 5, OTSEGO 1: Chad Carroll had a goal and an assist as Cory-Rawson defeated Otsego in a Division III sectional match at Bluffton. Cory-Rawson will play Bluffton at 7 p.m. Saturday. Mitchell Ice and Sean Sewell each scored twice for the Hornets (7-7-3).

Girls Soccer

OTTAWA-GLANDORF 7, CORY-RAWSON 0: Breann Schroeder scored 3 goals to lift the Titans to the Division II sectional tournament win. O-G will face Archbold on Saturday.

Amy Inkrott, Emily Maag, Kaylee Borer and Alexis Osting each had a goal for Ottawa-Glandorf.

ARCHBOLD 1, BLUFFTON 0: Archbold's Alicia Drews scored the lone goal in the Division II sectional match at Ottawa-Glandorf. Keeper Jonica Schmutz had 18 saves as Bluffton finishes the season 3-13-1.

BRYAN 5, OTTOVILLE 0: Jill Burkholder scored four goals for Bryan in the Division II sectional tournament game at Ottoville.

Cross Country

SHANER, HARPSTER WIN: Waynesfield's Nick Shaner won the boys race in 18:29.5 in a duel at Upper Scioto Valley while USV's Stephanie Harpster won the girls side in 23:29.7. Waynesfield's girls was the only team that recorded a team score, scoring 20 points.
