Saturday's prep roundup: Spartans finish second in GBC

SANDUSKY - Alyssa Schimmoeller's 16 digs led Lima Senior to a 22-25, 25-13, 25-15, 25-17 Greater Buckeye Conference volleyball win on Saturday over host Sandusky. The Spartans finish the regular season 10-12 and 5-5 in the GBC, for second place.

 Kristy Harris had 11 kills for the Spartans, Brianna Butler added 38 assists and Sam Dunifon had 6 aces.

LCC 3, SHAWNEE 0: Danielle Taflinger recorded 12 kills as the Thunderbirds won 25-14, 25-19, 25-10 in a nonleague match at Shawnee. JoJo Krieg had 5 aces for LCC, Alexis Diglio had 29 assists and Mary Fisher added 7 digs.

Rachel Ciminillo had 12 digs for Shawnee (14-8), Sarah Logsdon had 9 assists and Chelsea Oren added 7 kills.

OTTOVILLE SPLITS: Ottoville defeated Continental 25-10, 25-19, 25-17 but lost to Delphos St. John's 25-16, 25-15, 23-25, 25-21. Tosha Kaufman had 26 assists on the day for Ottoville while Tricia Honigford had 20 kills and Sam Modica added 10 kills.

OTTAWA-GLANDORF 3, COLUMBUS GROVE 0: Kori Bruns smashed 17 kills as Ottawa-Glandorf beat host Columbus Grove 25-19, 25-16, 25-18 in nonleague play.

Hannah Kaufman had 17 digs for O-G (15-7), Andrea Ellerbrock had 3 aces and 4 solo blocks and Mara Jacobs added 18 assists.

CRESTVIEW 3, KALIDA 2: Crestview held off visiting Kalida 25-22, 22-25, 21-25, 25-18, 15-11. Ashley Remlinger had 24 kills for Kalida (19-3), Julia Fuerst had 9 kills, Emily Turnwald had 16 assists and Amy VonderEmbse added 26 assists.

CORY-RAWSON 3, BLUFFTON 0: Cory-Rawson defeated host Bluffton 25-21, 25-10, 25-14. Bonnie Stratton had 13 digs and 6 kills for Bluffton (6-14), Mariah Welch added 6 kills and Sarah Stratton had 15 assists and 3 blocks.

TEMPLE CHRISTIAN 3, PERRY 0: Erika Beals had 21 digs and Angie Link added 9 kills as Temple Christian beat visiting Perry 25-5, 25-5, 25-23. Haley Sutton added 3 aces and 12 assists for Temple Christian, Megan Patton had 10 assists and Brittany Triplett had 14 digs.

TEMPLE CHRISTIAN 3, ADA 0: Joshua Link scored twice to help Temple Christian finish the regular season with its best record at 13-1-2. Austin Sutton added a goal for Temple Christian.

ELIDA 4, FORT JENNINGS 0: Elida's Erin Thomas struck for 3 goals in the nonleague win at Fort Jennings. Kayla Nolan added a goal for Elida (7-8-1). Fort Jennings falls to 10-4-2.

LEHMAN CATHOLIC 5, BATH 1: Brittney Brock had Bath's lone goal in the loss at Lehman Catholic. Megan Taucher had 12 saves for Bath (5-9-2).

KALIDA 1, CRESTVIEW 0: Sam Edwards scored for Kalida in the victory at Crestview.

ANTHONY WAYNE 5, SHAWNEE 0: Shawnee fell to 4-10-2 with the loss at Anthony Wayne.

CONTINENTAL 6, CORY-RAWSON 0: Brooke Tegenkamp scored twice as Continental blanked visiting Cory-Rawson.

Taylor Bidlack, Marlene Bradley, Jessica Brown and Darcy Schwarzman each scored a goal for Continental.
