Thursday's roundup: Bath downs St. Marys, St. John’s edges St. Henry

ST. MARYS - Liz Brock's 13 kills helped Bath claim a Western Buckeye League volleyball victory over host St. Marys 25-16, 29-27, 25-21 on Thursday.
Erika Dickerson had 31 assists for the Wildkittens (2-0, 1-0) and Rachel Gackin added 10 digs. Jessica Taylor had 7 kills for St. Marys (0-2).
ST. JOHN'S 3, ST. HENRY 2: Delphos St. John's defeated visiting St. Henry for the first time in the program's history by a score of 17-25, 14-25, 26-24, 25-14, 15-11. Ashley Jettinghoff led St. John's, stats were unavailable.
SHAWNEE 3, KENTON 0: Rachel Ciminillo had 17 digs and Shawnee won the WBL match 25-14, 25-9, 25-18.
Chelsea Oren had 10 kills for Shawnee (2-1, 1-0), Sarah Logsdon had 15 assists and Megan Ream had 10 blocks and 3 aces.
VAN WERT 3, ELIDA 1: Van Wert won its first match of the season with a 25-13, 26-24, 23-25, 25-17 victory. Andrea Johnston had 11 kills for Elida (1-2) while Kearston Smith added 25 assists.
OTTAWA-GLANDORF 3, DEFIANCE 0: Danielle Hershberger had 10 kills as Ottawa-Glandorf won 25-12, 25-11, 25-21 at Defiance. Jenna Ellerbrock had 36 assists for O-G (1-1, 1-0 WBL).
FAIRBANKS 3, PERRY 1: Perry fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the NWCC with the loss. Arielle Norbeck had 9 kills, 12 digs and 2 aces, Megan Patton had 18 assists and Brittany Triplett had 18 digs and 3 aces.
PANDORA-GILBOA 3, ALLEN EAST 0: The Rockets won 25-6, 25-12, 25-13 to raise their record to 3-1 overall. Megan Gerdeman had 9 kills for P-G, Kaitlin Siefer had 18 assists and Cristyn Hovest had 5 digs and 2 aces.
Sami Conley had 8 digs for Allen East (0-2) and Emma Hefner had 5 kills.
TEMPLE CHRISTIAN 3, RIDGEMONT 0: Krista Good had 6 kills and 13 assists for Temple Christian (2-0, 1-0 NWCC) while Katie Winkelman added 16 digs and 2 aces.
MARION LOCAL 3, COLDWATER 1: Alyssa Winner's 2 aces, 16 digs and 16 kills propelled Marion Local to a 25-21, 24-26, 25-19, 25-18 MAC victory.
Tara Hartings had 17 assists for the Flyers (3-0, 1-0) and Jessica Schwieterman had 24 digs.
RIVERSIDE 3, WAYNESFIELD 0: Waynesfield fell to 0-3 overall with a 25-8, 25-16, 25-23 loss to host Riverside. Brooke Shaw was 15-19 hitting while Hannah Van Horn was 12-18 hitting with 4 kills.
Girls Tennis
SHAWNEE 5, BATH 0: Vidhi Madan, Liz Mart and Lauren Rovner each won singles matches to lead Shawnee to a WBL victory. In doubles, Sownya Balusa and Ravali Parsa won at first singles while Nichole Shin and Grace Baird won at second singles for Shawnee (8-0, 4-0).
ELIDA 5, KENTON 0: Jessy Adkins, Jessica Stambaugh and Emily Fernandez won singles matches to lift Elida in the WBL match. Amy Sarno and Amanda Brickner won a doubles match for the Bulldogs (4-3, 2-2) while Caitie Kales and Cassidee Fletcher won the other doubles match.
WAPAK 4, OTTAWA-GLANDORF 1: Ricki Oen and Ashley Beach won singles matches for the Redskins in the WBL victory. In doubles, Wapak's Emily Sloneker and Emily Runkle won along with the team of Olivia Nelson and Makenzie Klouk. Megan Schroeder won a singles match for O-G.

OTTAWA-GLANDORF 3, DEFIANCE 1: Eric Brickner's 3 goals led the Titans to the WBL victory. Nick Leatherman had 6 saves for Ottawa-Glandorf (3-0, 1-0).
TOLEDO START 6, LIMA SENIOR 0: The Spartans fell to 0-3 with the loss at Toledo Start.
ELIDA 2, VAN WERT 0: Jimmy Warner and Ryan Musgrave each scored goals to lead Elida to the Western Buckeye League win. The Bulldogs improved to 3-1.
Elida keeper Brandon Good had two saves.
RIVERDALE 2, CORY-RAWSON 1: Riverdale outshot Cory-Rawson 11-4 en route to the win. Mitchell Ice scored for the Hornets (1-1) on an assist from Eric Rosendale.
ST. MARY'S 1, BATH 0: Patrick Schwartz scored the lone goal of the game as St. Marys won at Bath in WBL action.
SHAWNEE 4, KENTON 0: Ryan Magee scored twice while Nate Aller and Cogan Shimizu each scored a goal for Shawnee in the WBL win. Shawnee is 3-0-1 overall, 1-0 in the WBL.
Boys Golf
FREMONT ST. JOE'S 164, KALIDA 168: Matt Warnecke of Kalida shared medalist honors with Max Yellstrom of St. Joe's with 1-over par 37s, but the Crimson Streaks took the non-league dual match win. St. Joe's finished fifth in the Division III state tournament last year.
Kyle Hoffman and Cody Buss supported the Wildcats with a pair of 41s.
SPENCERVILLE 192, COLUMBUS GROVE 194: Trevor Crites shot a 42 for Spencerville in taking medalist honors at Country Acres Golf Club. Kory Layman shot a 39 for Spencerville (4-3) while Brian Howell shot a 50.
Nate King shot a 45 for Grove (2-5) while Clay Bryan added a 46.
BLUFFTON 171, ALLEN EAST 194, CRESTVIEW 197: Bluffton's Christian Koch shot a 40 at Colonial to take medalist honors and help the Pirates win a Northwest Conference tri-match.
Other leading scores for Bluffton were Steven Jenkins with a 41, Zack Krick with a 42 and Clay Wannemacher with a 48.
Jordan Kruger and Michel Kersker shot 42s for Allen East, which secured its first win of the season.
Jamin Rager (42) was the only Crestview golfer to break 50.
ELIDA 167, KENTON 188: Elida won its first match of the year behind a solid 39 from Kevin Wisher. J.J. Jackson added a 42, while Andrew Bowman and Kirk Boroff each had 43s.
Cody Barker was the low man for Kenton with a 44.
VAN WERT 162, CELINA 179: Van Wert's Blake Doidge took the medalist title to lift Van Wert in the WBL match. Zach Leatherman (40), Andrew Bashore (41), Brock Thatcher (43), A.J. Doidge (47) and Kyle Urban (48) also scored for the Cougars (5-0, 3-0).
Dawson Finkbiener (44) led Van Wert, followed by Scott Fleck, Jeremy Kerr and Darin Waterman, who each shot 45s.
Girls Golf
ST. HENRY 191, COLDWATER 223: St. Henry stayed perfect overall and in the Midwest Athletic Conference with this dual match win. The Redskins are 9-0 and 4-0 in conference play.
Shelly Post led St. Henry with a 45. Ashley Kunkler and Shelby Link each turned in a 48.
Leah Gilmore carded a 50 for the Cavaliers.
