MARIA STEIN — Marion Local opened the Division VI football playoffs with a 53-27 win over Bradford on Friday at Marion Local. Marion Local improves to 9-2.

The Flyers will take on MAC-foe Minster at 7:30 p.m. Friday at a site to be determined.

For Marion Local, Jacy Goettemoeller ran for 150 yards on 11 carries and scored three touchdowns while Hunter Wilke reeled in four receptions for 79 yards and two scores. Quarterback Adam Bertke passed for 181 yards as Marion Local was balanced with 470 total yards (226 rushing, 244 passing). Bradford finished with 311 yards (187 rush, 124 pass).

Minster rolls into

second round

MINSTER — Minster didn’t play around with visiting Lewsiburg Tri-County North, winning 48-7 in the Division VI regional quarterfinal game. No other stats were available.

St. Henry advances

to take on Ada

ST. HENRY — St. Henry opened the Division VI playoffs with an easy win, beating Fort Loramie 45-21.

St. Henry is 8-3 and will take on Ada at 7:30 p.m. Friday at a site to be determined.

St. Henry QB Kyle Stahl passed for 219 yards, completing 22-of-28 with two touchdowns. Adam Reichert added 98 rushing yards with three touchdown runs.
