LIMA — Lima Central Catholic’s softball team scored five runs in the first two innings and handed Crestview its first Northwest Conference loss of the season, 6-2, on Thursday at LCC.

Meredith Shepherd (8-4) got the win, allowing four hits, she also had two hits at the plate while Sydney Santaguida singled twice and Casey Clark doubled for LCC (10-6, 7-2). Terra Crowle doubled for Crestview (13-8, 7-1) and Mackenzie Riggenbach doubled.

Columbus Grove 5, Lincolnview 1

LINCOLNVIEW — Columbus Grove grabbed a key NWC victory, scoring four runs in the top of the eighth inning to break the game open. Bobbi Heckel pitched a complete game for Grove (18-3, 6-1) and she had three hits. Katie Roose doubled and singled twice while Hope Schroeder doubled for the Bulldogs.

Allen East 7, Spencerville 6

SPENCERVILLE — Trailing 5-3, Allen East scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning while Spencerville mustered just one in the bottom of the inning as the Mustangs won the NWC game.

Kyle Wyss was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Allen East (14-8, 4-5), Maddie Schants had two RBIs and was 2-for-4 and Aubren Davis (7-6) got the pitching win. Mackenzie Ringwald was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for Spencerville (4-15, 3-5), Amber Hallard doubled and Tori Johnston was 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Johnston also took the pitching loss, striking out two, walking three and giving up no earned runs.

Paulding 1, Bluffton 0

PAULDING — Emily Farr pitched a complete game, six-hitter, striking out four and walking three to help Paulding win an NWC game. Samantha Fruchey pitched well in the loss, throwing six innings, walking none and giving up three hits and one run for Bluffton. Kylee Barnett and Adrian Rumer had two hits each for Bluffton.

Ada 10, Delphos Jefferson 4

ADA — Kendra Paul tripled and doubled for Ada in the NWC win. Ashlei Windle doubled twice for Ada and Alexis Amburgey was the winning pitcher. Kamie Pulford went 2-for-4 for Jefferson.

Ottawa-Glandorf 8, Shawnee 6

OTTAWA — Megan Kitchen struck out five, walked one and pitched a complete game to lift the Titans past Shawnee in WBL play. Kitchen also singled and tripled for the Titans (12-4, 5-4). Shelby Lucas singled twice for Shawnee.

Toledo Whitmer 16, Lima Senior 0

TOLEDO — Whitmer smacked 11 hits and Lima Senior committed eight errors in falling to 0-13.

Parkway 3, Perry 2

PERRY TOWNSHIP — Kylie Snyder got the pitching win in eight innings as Parkway scored a run in the top of the eighth and held off Perry in the bottom of the inning. Terra Walls doubled for Parkway. Abbie Patton tripled and took a tough pitching loss while Courtland Fowler also smacked a double for Perry.


Delphos St. John’s 9, Wayne Trace 2

DELPHOS — Ryan Buescher was 3-for-4 with a double as the Blue Jays improved to 6-12. Curtis Geise and Clay Courtney both doubled for DSJ. Troy Warnecke was the winning pitcher, striking out three and walking one.

Bluffton 2, Paulding 1

PAULDING — Nate Risner struck out 11 and walked one to pick up the win for Bluffton, which scored a run in the top of the seventh for the win. Drake Luginbuhl singled twice for the Pirates (10-9, 5-3). Treston Gonzales doubled for Paulding (5-11, 3-5).

Allen East 2, Spencerville 1

SPENCERVILLE — Derek Ketcham bashed a solo home run in the first inning to get Allen East started in the NWC game. Casey Crow struck out seven and got the pitching win for Allen East (14-8, 5-4). Mitchell Youngpeter doubled for Spencerville (6-10, 2-4).

Delphos Jefferson 5, Ada 3

DELPHOS — Drew Kortokrax slammed a two-run home run and pitcher Josh Teman struck out five, walked three and gave up four hits in the victory for Jefferson. Ross Thompson had a solo homer for Jefferson. Brayden Sautter had two hits and two RBIs for Ada.

Wapakoneta 4, Celina 2

CELINA — Johnny Crawford went five innings, striking out nine and walking one to claim the pitching win for Wapak. Marshall Gerlach pitched the final two innings for a save while Andrew Hines doubled for Wapak and Chandler Kaeck singled and had two RBIs. Kaleb Kuhn went 2-for-4 with a double for Celina and Aric Fickert doubled.

Ottawa-Glandorf 9, Leipsic 2

LEIPSIC — Tyler Zender homered, doubled and singled for O-G in the non-league win. Drew Schierloh was the winning pitcher while Jake Hashberger, Cody Bockrath, Jaylen Van Sossan and Cory Imm each doubled for O-G (12-4). Devin Mangas doubled for Leipsic (12-9).

Defiance 7, Elida 1

DEFIANCE — Robbie Zeigler struck out 10 and walked two in improving his pitching record to 6-0 while Defiance improved to 20-1 (7-0 WBL). Elida fell to 3-18 (1-8). Dom Gentile was 3-for-4 with a triple for the Bulldogs.

Miller City 10, Holgate 7

MILLER CITY — Jared Fuka and Adam Drummelsmith each singled and doubled for Miller City (13-7) while Jackson Lammers singled twice.

Continental 14, Antwerp 2

CONTINENTAL — The Pirates bashed 16 hits and won in five innings. Terry Dockery III was the winning pitcher and went 4-for-4 at the plate with a double, three runs scored and four RBIs while Gabe Williams homered and Luke Sullivan was 3-for-3 with two runs scored for Continental.

Miller City 10, Holgate 2

MILLER CITY — Kylee Ricker pitched a complete game for the win, she also had an RBI double as Miller City knocked off Holgate. Liz Schimmoeller singled twice and drove in three runs and Jessica Vennekotter singled twice and had two RBIs.

St. Henry 4, Van Wert 3

ST. HENRY — Alex Post homered for St. Henry and Derek Rindler doubled. Mitchel Stammen (4-1) was the winning pitcher for St. Henry (19-5). Joey Hurless doubled and tripled for Van Wert (12-11).
