CONVOY — Shawnee’s softball team improved to 7-0 on the season by beating Spencerville 12-1 and Crestview 6-5 in at the Crestview Quad. Crestview beat New Bremen 6-2.

Kay Shick picked up the win over Crestview to improve to 5-0. She struck out five and walked four, allowing five hits. Shelby Lucas had two hits. Terra Crowle doubled and Kierstan Hicks got the loss, striking out six and walking one.

In the Shawnee vs. Spencerville game, Britt Lauck was the winning pitcher, striking out eight, walking none and giving up two hits. Lauck also doubled and singled twice, Tori Runneals doubled, Taylor Lucas homered and singled twice and Hannah Taylor singled twice. Alex Shumate took the loss for Spencerville, striking out six and walking four.

In Crestview’s win over New Bremen, Crowle was the winning pitcher, striking out eight, walking three and giving up two hits. Kirsten Hicks doubled for the Knights (4-3).

Pirates battle Commodores

PERRY TOWNSHIP — Perry knocked off Bluffton 6-1 in the first game of a doubleheader before Bluffton won the second game 16-5.

Abbie Patton struck out five and got the win for Perry. Katie Palte homered for the Pirates. In the second game, Palte tripled and singled while Samantha Fruchey was the winning pitcher and tripled. Patton, Lexi Turman and Kaylee Petaway each doubled for Perry.

Elida, Bellefontaine split

ELIDA — Elida rallied from four runs down in the bottom of the sixth inning to beat Bellefontaine 5-3 in the opener of a doubleheader. Bellefontaine came back to win 10-6 in the second game. Aryanna Brown smashed a two-run triple in the sixth for Elida while Michaela Black doubled and Brown got the pitching win. Ericka Smith tripled for Elida in the second game while Catie Shroyer had two singles and three RBIs. Elida is 3-3.

Bath claims two

TOLEDO — Bath knocked off host Toledo Whitmer 11-3 and Sylvania Southview 7-2. Kimmy Reynolds got two pitching wins, fanning seven and walking none in the first game and striking out 13 and walking one in the nightcap to improve to 6-0. Julia Miller homered and singled twice against Whitmer while Camille Martin and Alyssa Manley each had three hits. Martin had two more hits against Southview while Kara Dienstberger and Aries Riley each doubled. Bath is 7-0.

Parkway, Wapak split

WAPAKONETA — Wapakoneta began the doubleheader with a 9-5 win before Parkway bounced back to win 12-6 in the nightcap. Renee Lovett was the winning pitcher for Wapak, which scored four unearned runs off four Parkway errors in the first game. In the second, Sierra Fent, who doubled in the opener, hit a three-run homer and a two-run triple, finishing with six RBIs. Lindsey Walls tripled, singled, scored three runs and had two RBIs for Parkway while Kati Sawmiller and Carli Sammons each doubled for Wapakoneta.

Wayne Trace sweeps LCC

LIMA — Wayne Trace swept host LCC 14-11 and 4-1. Meredith Niese doubled twice and singled for LCC, Casey Clark doubled, Meredith Shepherd had three hits while Lexi Moore, Abby Tabler and Molly Clements each had two hits. LCC is 0-3.

Continental 17, Stryker 9

CONTINENTAL — The Pirates finished with 15 hits and Stryker gave up nine errors. Leva Weller improved her pitching record to 2-1 with the complete game win. Taylor Williamson went 4-for-4 with a home run, four RBIs and two runs scored while Alex Quisley was 2-for-3 with two walks, two RBIs and four runs scored for Continental (2-1).


Delphos Jefferson, Parkway battle

DELPHOS — Parkway rolled to a 14-4, six-inning victory to start a doubleheader at Delphos Jefferson before the Wildcats turned the tables and won 11-7 in the second game. Jefferson improves to 5-2 overall while Parkway is 1-2.

In Parkway’s win, Cain Pontsler went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, a double and two runs scored.

Drew Kortokrax went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs in Jefferson’s win, Zach Kimmett was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Ross Thompson was 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs, two runs scored and a stolen base. Tyler Rice got the win.

Columbus Grove rolls

COLUMBUS GROVE — Columbus Grove beat visiting Hardin Northern 14-4 and 16-2 to improve to 4-1 on the season. In the opener for Grove, Blake Hoffman doubled, Brandon Benroth doubled, Matt Jay had two singles and four RBIs, Brady Shafer singled twice and had three RBIs while Trent Vorst was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Lincoln LaRoche tripled, doubled and singled for Hardin Northern.

In the nightcap for the Bulldogs, Jay went 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBIs, Brady Shafer went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored and Kody Griffith doubled and singled while Mason Smith and Elisha Jones each doubled.

Bath cruises past Sidney

SIDNEY — Bath dismantled Sidney 10-3 and 21-4 in a doubleheader. Colin Gossard got the first win, fanning seven, walking two and giving up six hits. Eric Jordan struck out five and walked three in the second win. Doug Sanders finished with three doubles total while Caleb Norton had six hits and Eric Heffner had five hits. Bath is 3-3 overall.

Allen East, Arlington split

HARROD — Allen East lost to visiting Arlington 5-4 but won the second game 14-4. In the opener, Erik Neeley took a tough loss on the mound but doubled at the plate while Derek Ketchum and Max McAdoo each doubled. Braden Goodwin struck out seven and walked three to get the nightcap win. McAdoo, Cole Basham and Reggie Keller each doubled for Allen East (3-1) while Basham also singled and had three RBIs.

Titans drop Panthers

PAULDING — Ottawa-Glandorf beat up the baseball and beat Paulding 8-5 and 11-6, smacking 18 total hits in the doubleheader. Matt Warnecke and Tanner Schimmoeller each got pitching wins. Cory Imm finished with two doubles and four singles on the day while Jake Hashberger and Drew Schierloh each homered. Jaylen VonSossan doubled and singled. Javier Gonzales had four singles for Paulding and Damon Egnor had three home runs. Paulding is 0-4 while O-G moves to 4-0.

Celina, Greenville split

GREENVILLE — Celina’s Aric Fickert pitched a strong outing but lost to Greenville 4-3 in the first game of two. Fickert pitched six innings and gave up just one earned run and two walks, striking out three. Cody Vogel went 2-for-3 with a double and Jimmy Luebke doubled for the Bulldogs. In the second game, Celina won 15-8. Luebke was 2-for-4 with a double, five RBIs and three runs scored, he also got the pitching save in three innings of work while Riley Luebke got the victory.

Shawnee falls at Wauseon

WAUSEON — Shawnee lost to host Wauseon 8-4 and Westfall 15-9. Against Wauseon, Shawnee’s Cory Wilder doubled and Tobie Azoez had 2 hits. Against Westfall, Zack Peake doubled and singled while William Kleffner homered and singled. Brandon Kohl and Zach Bailey each singled twice.

Miller City 7, Leipsic 4

LEIPSIC — Jackson Lammers struck out 10 and walked four in a victory for Miller City (3-1). Ross Lehman homered and Hunter Berner doubled for Miller City. Logan Haselman doubled for Leipsic (2-1).

Coldwater sweeps Indian Lake

COLDWATER — Coldwater beat Indian Lake 14-4 and 19-6. Brody Hoying was 6-for-7 on the day with two doubles, eight RBIs and five runs scored while Adam Klosterman was 4-for-5 with five runs and three RBIs. Coldwater is 5-1 while Indian Lake is 2-3.

New Knoxville 12 Jackon Center 0

NEW KNOXVILLE — Michael Porter doubled twice, Shane Topp tripled and Jake Allen pitched five innings for the win for New Knoxville.

Stryker 11, Continental 5

CONTINENTAL — Zach Schwarzman tripled, doubled, scored twice and had two RBIs for the Pirates, who fell to 0-4 overall. Continental had four innings in the first inning.
