FINDLAY — Bath’s boys soccer team made the most of its first appearance in a district final, beating Bowling Green 4-2 on Saturday at Findlay to claim the Division II district title.
Bath improves to 14-4-1 and will play Ottawa-Glandorf in the regional semifinals Wednesday at a site to be determined.
“It’s very exciting, the boys are excited, the girls also won the district so it’s a great night for Bath soccer,” Bath coach Wes Mason said. “We scored the first goal and they tied and after that we came out strong and dominated the game. It was a strong performance by us.”
Logan Rockhold struck for three goals while brother Conner Rockhold had two assists for Bath. Austin Ricker also scored a goal. Bath outshot Bowling Green 14-3.
“Logan and Conner both had great games,” Mason said. “Conner did a lot of the leg work for Logan and usually it’s the other way.”
And now it’s on to a rematch with Western Buckeye League champion Ottawa-Glandorf. The Titans beat the Wildcats 1-0 on Oct. 4 at Bath.
“I’m really proud of the team and I’m happy we get another shot at Ottawa-Glandorf,” Mason said.
