TOLEDO — Essence Cowan sizzled to the tune of 23 points to lead Lima Senior to a 74-55 victory over Clay on Thursday in Three Rivers Athletic Conference action.
Rion Thompson scored 17 points for Lima Senior (3-1, 2-0), Stacia Allen had 15 points and Indiya Benjamin scored 10 points. Clay falls to 2-2, 1-1.
Delphos Jefferson 39, Columbus Grove 35
COLUMBUS GROVE — Delphos Jefferson opened the NWC by finishing strong, outscoring host Grove 11-5 in the fourth quarter for the win.
Rileigh Stockwell scored 13 points for Jefferson (3-1, 1-0) and she grabbed 6 rebounds. Hannah Sensibaugh finished with 3 assists, 5 rebounds and 5 points. For Grove (1-4, 0-1), Rachel Schumacher had 9 points, Sammi Stechschulte had 8 points, 6 boards and Sidney McCluer had 7 points and 7 rebounds.
Bluffton 38, LCC 36
BLUFFTON — Bluffton held off Lima Central Catholic in a game that opened the Northwest Conference slate for both teams.
Sierra Amstutz scored 10 points to lead the Pirates while Sarah Schriner finished with 8 points. Meredith Shepherd scored 14 points for LCC while Kayla Verhoff finished with 9 points.
Shawnee 56, St. Marys 43
SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Britt Lauck lit it up for 20 points and the Indians won their WBL opener and moved to 2-1 overall. Abby Waddle had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds for Shawnee. Leann Bertke and Kelsey Rohrbach each had 14 points for the Roughriders (0-4).
Lincolnview 57, Allen East 55
LAFAYETTE — Katie Dye’s 18 points, 6 steals and 4 assists led Lincolnview to the victory at Allen East. Kaitlyn Brant added 15 points and 6 rebounds to go with 3 blocks for the Lancers. Jadin Salyers scored 16 points for Allen East (3-2, 1-0 NWC) and both Carly Clum and Morgan Truex scored 12 points.
Crestview 46, Ada 35
ADA — Crestview opened its NWC schedule with a victory at Ada. Terra Crowle had 13 points for the Knights, Emily Bauer had 9 points while both Lindsay Motycka and Mackenzie Riggenbauch had 8 points. Tori Wyss had 8 points and 7 rebounds for Ada and Taylor Willeke scored 15 points.
Ottawa-Glandorf 48, Van Wert 45
OTTAWA — Elissa Ellerbock’s 12 points helped O-G move to 2-1 overall and open the WBL with a victory. Dani Ellerbrock had 8 points and Kristen Miller had 8 points and 5 rebounds. Claire Butler had 10 boards and 8 points for Van Wert (1-3, 0-1).
Delphos St. John’s 48, Parkway 39
ROCKFORD — Jessica Recker’s 17 points paced the Blue Jays to a MAC victory on the road. Recker struck for five 3-pointers for St. John’s (3-2) while Katie Vorst and Rebekah Fischer had 10 points each. Kylie Snyder scored 13 points for Parkway (0-4) and Sierra Fent had 12 points.
Kalida 47, Antwerp 20
ANTWERP — Kalida outscored Antwerp 20-3 to take a 29-7 halftime lead and win the nonleague game. Jackie Gardner scored 10 points for the Wildcats (3-1) and Summer Holtkamp scored 9 points. Antwerp is 0-4.
Leipsic 63, Arcadia 60 (OT)
LEIPSIC — Haley Gerten paced the Vikings to an overtime victory in nonleague action. Gerten finished with a game-high 26 points while Amber Gerteman had 18 points and Hailey Kreinbrink scored 9 points. Leipsic is 1-2.
USV 92, Ridgemont 21
McGUFFEY — Ali Goldsmith and Shelby Carroll each scored 20 points as Upper Scioto Valley cruised past Ridgemont in an NWCC game. Aspen Rose scored 19 for USV (2-2, 1-0) and Maura Griesheimer had 15 points. Aislinn McCullough scored 11 points for Ridgemont (0-3, 0-1).
