OTTAWA — Three Ottawa-Glandorf pitchers combined on a two-hitter, striking out 12, to beat visiting Ottoville in a non-league season opening baseball game on Tuesday.

Matt Warnecke picked up the win for the Titans, pitching four inning, walking none and fanning four. Jaylen VonSossan pitched two innings, striking out five, and Tyson Yungman pitched the final inning, striking out three.

Brad Croy singled twice for O-G, Tyler Zender doubled and had two RBIs and Ben Dietering doubled and singled. Joel Beining doubled for Ottoville (0-1).

Columbus Grove 12, Elida 2

COLUMBUS GROVE — Columbus Grove scored nine runs in the first inning off four hits, five walks and a hit batsman and went on to win in five innings. Brandon Benroth had a single and a three-run home run in the first inning for Grove (1-0), Matt Jay finished with a double and a single, Josh Verhoff tripled and got the pitching win. Adam Purdy took the loss for Elida (0-2).

LCC 8, St. Marys 4

ST. MARYS — Ben Stolly smoked a key double and finished with four RBIs as the T-Birds belted 11 hits to beat non-league host St. Marys. St. Marys smoked 12 hits in the loss. Trevor Hoff was the winning pitcher for LCC (1-1), which scored five runs in the third inning. Tyler Rose doubled for St. Marys (0-2).

Wapakoneta 11, Greenville 1

GREENVILLE — Brandon Schreiber went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs and a run scored to help Wapakoneta rout Greenville in five innings. Wapak slapped 12 hits and scored six runs in the top of the fifth. Josh Apple homered and singled, Keaton Zwiebel doubled and had an RBI and a run scored and Andrew Hines went 2-for-3. Chace Culver was the winning pitcher, facing all 17 batters and striking out four, walking one and giving up four hits.

Celina 9, Marion Local 7

MARIA STEIN — Marion Local scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh but Celina held on for the win. Celina finished with nine hits as Kaleb Kuhn was 3-for-3 with 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored and a double. Cody Vogel and Aric Fickert each homered. Fickert also got the pitching win in five innings of work. Aaron Nietfeld and Dustin Rethman each tripled for the Flyers and Kyle Mescher doubled.

Kenton 9, USV 5

KENTON — Noah Furbush doubled twice for Kenton (1-1) while Matt Bahr homered and was the winning pitcher. Shane Rofe, Jayce Jacobs and Chance Watkins each doubled for USV (0-1).

Miller City 12, Continental 2

MILLER CITY — Ross Lehman struck out four and didn’t give up an earned run in the five-inning win. Adam Niese had 2 singles for the Wildcats (1-0), Ross Lehman doubled and had three RBIs and Jared Fuka had three RBIs and a single. The game did not count as a PCL matchup.

Coldwater 3, Fort Loramie 0

FORT LORAMIE — Derek Thobe struck out 11 batters in six innings for the win and Matt Selhorst got the save for Coldwater (1-1). Matt Kramer had a single, a double and scored a run for the Cavs. Coldwater had 6 hits.


Allen East 17, Cory-Rawson 5

HARROD — Erin Conkle went 3-for-3 with four RBIs and a double as Allen East beat visiting Cory-Rawson in five innings. The Mustangs had 11 hits and scored 12 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Madison Schantz doubled and singled while Audrey Rodriguez was 3-for-3 with four BIs and Aubren Davis was the winning pitcher, giving up four hits.

Shawnee 9, Bellefontaine 1

BELLEFONTAINE — Britt Lauck rapped two doubles and singled to help Shawnee improve to 4-0. Kay Shick was the winning pitcher, Tori Runneals and Shelby Lucas each had 3 hits and Hannah Taylor added two for the Indians.

Ada 12, Ridgemont 1

RIDGEWAY — Ada slugged 11 hits in the six-inning game while pitcher Alexis Amburgey got the win in six innings, allowing four hits and no walks. Trista Douce and Alexis Gonzaga each singled twice and had two RBIs while Ashley Windle doubled, singled and had an RBI for Ada (1-1).

Carey 5, Bluffton 2

CAREY — Bluffton fell to 0-2 with the loss. Katie Palte was 2-for-4 at the plate for the Pirates while pitcher Sami Fruchey got the loss. Carey benefitted from five errors and scored four runs in the fifth.

Parkway 11, St. Marys 0

ST. MARYS — Sierra Fent struck out eight and didn’t give up a hit in four innings as the Panthers won in five innings in both team’s openers. Kylie Snyder had four hits and four RBIs for Parkway while Rachel King doubled.

Hardin Northern 6, Perry 0

DOLA — Abby Bame pitched a two-hit shutout, striking out five for Hardin Northern. Molly Wilson singled, tripled and scored a run for the Polar Bears, Bame doubled, scored a run and had two RBIs and Lea Rowe singled, scored a run and had an RBI. Abby Patton had nine strikeouts and a walk for Perry, allowing three runs.

Kenton 21, USV 3

KENTON — Kaylee Burd tripled and got the pitching win as Kenton smacked 11 hits and scored 10 runs in the bottom of the third. Burd struck out seven and walked one, giving up three hits. Morgan Goecke and Jessica Boone each doubled for Kenton (2-0). Maddison Lowery doubled for USV (0-1).


St. Marys 4, Bluffton 1

ST. MARYS — Cole Brooks and Jason Freewalt each won a singles match for St. Marys in the non-league win. Kevin Dammeyer and Zach Nelson won at No. 1 doubles and Justin Netterman and Noah Hartsock won at No. 2 for the Roughriders (1-1). Luke Headings won at No. 3 singles for Bluffton (1-1).
