LCC nets sweep

Lima Central Catholic’s girls tennis team won a doubleheader on Thursday afternoon, posting wins over Defiance and Lima Senior.
LCC defeated Lima Senior, 4-1, and also knocked off Defiance, 4-1.
In the Defiance match, LCC’s Emily Janowski won at No. 2 singles. Jennifer Huffman won at No. 3 singles.
In the Lima Senior match, LCC’s Kacey Bradshaw, Janowski and Lizz Kidd all won their singles matches.
LCC is 3-0. Lima Senior is 0-1. Defiance is 0-3.
Girls Tennis
Shawnee 3, Findlay 2
Shawnee edged Findlay in a non-league match at Shawnee.
Shawnee’s Isabelle Baird won at No. 2 singles. Shawnee’s Anita Kattapalli won at No. 3 singles.
Shawnee is 2-0, while Findlay is 1-1.
Boys Golf
New Bremen 168, Delphos St. John’s 173
New Bremen knocked off Delphos St. John’s led by Darin Bergman (38) and Alex Britton (40).
The Blue Jays’ Nick Kayser won medalist honors with a 34.
Paulding Invitational
Wauseon shot 316 to win the Paulding Invitational at the Auglaize Golf Club.
Kalida was second with 319.
Wauseon’s Trevor Dominique shot a 74 to win medalist honors.
Kalida’s Austin Horstman was second with a 75. Kalida’s Zach Erhart shot a 79, while Neil Recker had an 80.
Arlington 163, Bluffton 189
BLUFFTON – Arlington knocked off Bluffton at the Bluffton Golf Club.
Arlington’s Cody Rettig was the medalist with a 38.
Rich Streicher shot a 43 for Bluffton.
Girls Golf
Defiance Invitational
DEFIANCE — Sylvania Northview won the Defiance Invitational, while Shawnee finished second at Eagle Rock Golf Course.
Northview finished with 366 to win the 14-team tournament. Shawnee was second with 376. Celina shot 413. Defiance shot 383, while Wapakoneta shot 419. Lincolnview shot 432.
Shawnee’s Morgan Van Meter took medalist honors with an 81.
Versailles Invitational
VERSAILLES – Tipp City won the Versailles Invitational at the Stillwater Golf Club.
Tipp City shot 361, while host Versailles was second with 388.
Indian Lake was fourth with 409. St. Henry was fifth with 423. Marion Local was 11th, while New Bremen was 12th and Parkway was 15th.
Tipp City’s Lindsey Murray was the medalist with a 77.
