TONTOGANY — The third time was indeed a charm for the Lima Senior girls basketball team on Saturday, as the Spartans beat rival Findlay 60-58 in a Division I sectional final at Otsego. Findlay beat Lima Senior twice in the regular season.
Lima Senior moves into the district semifinal game against Perrysburg at 7 p.m. Thursday at Otsego.
Indiya Benjamin scored 23 points to lead Lima Senior while Stacia Allen finished with 20 points and Rion Thompson scored 10 points.
Crestview 46, Delphos St. John’s 40
VAN WERT — The top-seeded Crestview girls basketball team moved past Delphos St. John’s in the Division IV sectional finals for a berth in the district tournament next week.
The Knights will play Kalida at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at Lima Senior in the district semifinals. Emily Bauer scored 12 points for Crestview, Mackenzie Riggenbach had 11 points and Linsey Motycka scored 9 points. Katie Vorst finished with 18 points for Delphos St. John’s.
Lincolnview 49, Delphos Jefferson 43
VAN WERT — Katie Dye’s 18 points led Lincolnview past Delphos Jefferson in the Division IV sectional final at Van Wert. The Lancers take on Ottoville at 8 p.m. Thursday at Lima Senior in the district semifinals.
Kaitlyn Brant scored 17 points for Lincolnview. Rileigh Stockwell scored 17 points for Jefferson while Brooke Culp finished with 12 points.
Waynesfield-Goshen 50, USV 47
KENTON — Kaylee Patton had two huge blocks toward the end of the game to go with a big night overall as the Tigers took down the Rams in a Division IV sectional final at Kenton. Waynesfield-Goshen will play Marion Local at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at St. Marys in the district semifinals. Marion Local beat New Knoxville 45-40 in a sectional final at Coldwater.
Patton finished with 18 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for W-G (16-7) while Abbie Vanhorn had 13 points and Rebecca Stevens scored 10 points. Ali Goldsmith scored 14 points for USV.
Leipsic 40, Holgate 30
OTTAWA — Maddie Steffen scored 10 points to lead Leipsic to the Division IV sectional final win at Ottawa-Glandorf. Leipsic will play the winner of Arlington/Riverdale at 8 p.m. Thursday at Liberty-Benton in the district semifinal.
Haley Gerten had 9 points for the Vikings and Amber Gerdeman scored 8 points.
Van Wert 29, Napoleon 28
HICKSVILLE — Van Wert edged by Napoleon in the Division II sectional final at Hicksville. Napoleon will take on Bath at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at Paulding in the district semifinals. No other statistics were available.
Ada 50, Dola Hardin Northern 18
KENTON — Ada smashed Hardin Northern to move into the Division IV district semifinals. Ada will play Minster at 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Marys. Minster beat Fort Recovery 47-40 on Saturday. No other stats were available.
Willard 62, Kenton 54
FOSTORIA — Willard ousted Kenton from the Division II sectional tournament in the championship game at Fostoria. No other stats were available.
