BATH TOWNSHIP — Bath’s offense roped 14 hits as the baseball team beat Ottawa-Glandorf 12-7 in a Western Buckeye League opener on Tuesday.

Caleb Norton was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a double, Eric Heffner was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a double, Eric Jordan doubled, Seth Collins was 3-for-4 and Doug Sanders had two hits for Bath (4-3). Norton was the winning pitcher, striking out nine and walking none. Cory Imm had two hits for O-G (5-1) and Cody Bockrath was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

LCC 10, Lima Senior 1

LIMA — Lima Central Catholic cracked 13 hits and improved to 3-3 with a non-league win over visiting Lima Senior.

Nick Watkins tripled, singled and had four RBIs for LCC while Sam Huffman doubled and singled. Corey O’Dowd was the winning pitcher for the T-Birds as Lima Senior had just one hit. The Spartans fell to 0-4.

Celina 8, Elida 6

ELIDA — Aric Fickert smashed a two-run homer, a double and finished with a 3-for-4 day at the plate as Celina improved to 6-1 and won its WBL opener. Cody Vogel struck out seven and walked four in the pitching win. David Diller, Riley Overholt and Josh Carder each doubled for Elida (0-7, 0-1).

Columbus Grove 7, Ottoville 2

OTTOVILLE — Trey Roney smashed a home run in the sixth while Brandon Benroth doubled twice and Columbus Grove improved to 5-1 overall and 1-1 in the Putnam County League. Matt Jay went 3-for-3 with an RBI for the Bulldogs while Roney was 2-for-4. Josh Verhoff was the winning pitcher, fanning four and walking two. Cory Fischer had two hits for Ottoville (1-3, 0-1).

Delphos Jefferson 14, Miller City 4

DELPHOS — Jefferson exploded for 13 runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game early. Tyler Rice was the winning pitcher for Jefferson (6-2). Ross Thompson singled and had two doubles, Zach Ricker doubled, Austin Jettinghoff singled and doubled, Drew Kortokrax singled, doubled and homered, Zach Kimmett singled and homered while Jordan Herron and Zavier Buzard each doubled. For Miller City (4-2), Jackson Lammers and Ross Leyhman each doubled and singled, Hunter Berner doubled and Adam Drummelsmith had three singles.

Spencerville 6, Delphos St. John’s 5

SPENCERVILLE — After St. John’s tied the game with a run in the top of the seventh, Spencerville answered with a run in the bottom of the inning for the non-league win. Joel Shimp picked up the win for the Bearcats (1-3), he also went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and a triple. James Schaad was 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Spencerville, Aaron Crider was 2-for-3. Drew Wagner doubled for DSJ and Andrew Metzger was 3-for-4.

Van Wert 10, St. Marys 7

VAN WERT — Joey Hurless went 3-for-4 with a triple as Van Wert won its WBL opener. Nathan Stoller (2-0) got the victory on the mound, striking out seven, walking one and giving up five hits for the Cougars (3-3). Stoller also went 2-for-3 with three RBIs while Tyler Williams doubled and Brant Henry tripled. St. Marys is 0-7 overall.

New Knoxville 9, Perry 7

PERRY TOWNSHIP — Trailing 6-2, New Knoxville scored seven runs in the top of the seventh inning and went on to win in non-league play. Ben Sanders, R.J. King and Andrew Russel each had two singles for Perry, Cory Smith singled and doubled and Chad Henson doubled. Jake Allen was 3-for-5 and Wes Meyer was 2-for-4 for New Knoxville while Adam Howe got the pitching win. Perry is 2-3.

Holgate 5, Kalida 4

KALIDA — Rob Kleman doubled twice as Kalida finished with nine hits in the loss to visiting Holgate. Neil Recker tripled for Kalida (0-3) and Kyle Kehres singled and doubled.


Bluffton 3, LCC 2

LIMA — Mike Deter’s second singles victory helped Bluffton beat host LCC. The doubles teams of Kory Enneking-Luke Headings and Justin Paul-Nickolas Slinger won for the Pirates. Alex Swick and Zach Schroeder won in singles play for the T-Birds (4-1, 3-2).

Shawnee 5, Wapakoneta 0

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Jason Barton, Avinash Rahasekaran and Ruthic Avvari won singles matches as Shawnee beat Wapakoneta in a WBL match. In doubles, Josh Thomas and Carter Jones won at No. 1 while Scott Jettinghoff and Prudvi Battula won at No. 2.

Celina 4, Elida 1

CELINA — Alex Seibel, Aaron Seibel and Hagan Kriegal were singles winners for Celina in the WBL victory. Isaac Elston and Kris LeJeune won at first doubles for Celina (5-1, 2-0 WBL). Asa Swihart and Kody Ley won for Elida at second doubles.

Ottawa-Glandorf 4, Bath 1

BATH TOWNSHIP — Ottawa-Glandorf moved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the WBL. Alex Schroeder, Zach Bruskotter and Brandon Hempfling won singles matches for the Titans while the No. 1 doubles team of Brendon Drerup and Alex Kuhlman won. At No. 2 doubles, Bath’s Mitch Skinner and Logan Ambrister won.

Van Wert 3, St. Marys 2

ST. MARYS — Van Wert swept the doubles matches as Jon Lisa and Luke Stevens teamed for a win at No. 1 while Alex Bair and Eli Alverez won at No. 2. Nick Etter won at third singles for the Cougars (2-0, 2-0). Cole Brooks and Jason Freewalt won in singles play for St. Marys (2-3, 0-2).


Allen East 15, Botkins 1

HARROD — Erin Conkle homered, doubled and had five RBIs for Allen East, which smacked 16 hits in the non-league win. Taylor Lloyd was 3-for-3 for Allen East (5-3) while Kylie Wyss, Taylor Richardson and Kennedy Rex each doubled. Wyss was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Rex as 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Kaycee Rowe was the winning pitcher, walking one, striking out six and giving up five hits. Botkins falls to 4-3.

LCC 6, Coldwater 3

LIMA — Meredith Shepherd singled twice and picked up a pitching win, limiting Coldwater to four hits while LCC had 13.

Molly Clements homered for the T-Birds (1-3), Frankie Bowersock doubled and singled while Sydney Santaguida and Kayla Verhoff each had two singles. Meredith Niese doubled for LCC. Kelsey Koesters doubled for Coldwater.

Lincolnview 5, Perry 2

LINCOLNVIEW — Ashley McClure raised her pitching record to 4-0 with the win for the Lancers. Baylee Neate smoked a two-run triple for Lincolnview (5-0) while Jodie Doner tripled and Julia Thatcher had two singles and a double. Cortney Trent had two singles for Perry. Abbie Patton took the loss.

Columbus Grove 11, Ottoville 0

OTTOVILLE — Monica Delgado smoked a home run for the Bulldogs in the PCL victory. Bobbi Heckel pitched a two-hitter, striking out four and walking three for the five-inning victory. Hope Schnider doubled and tripled while Kyra Yinger tripled.

Parkway 13, Crestview 3

ROCKFORD — Sierra Fent and Ashlynn Henderson each homered and Parkway won in five innings. Fent was the winning pitcher, allowing three hits, she also doubled for Parkway. Lindsey Walls, Rachel King and Olivia Smith each doubled and singled while Zoey Pond each singled twice.

Miller City 7, Leipsic 3

MILLER CITY — Liz Schimmoeller struck out 11 and walked five to pick up the win for Miller City. Jenn Leis and Schimmoeller each had two singles for Miller City while Liz Klear doubled for the Wildcats (1-3, 1-0 PCL). Brooke Kreinbrink and Haley Gerten each singled twice for Leipsic (0-4, 0-1).

Minster 12, Jackson Center 1

JACKSON CENTER — Minster broke the game open with six runs in the top of the second. Sara Hosey tripled and Stephanie Albers doubled for Minster.
