ELIDA — Josh Apple roped an RBI-single in the top of the 11th to lift Wapakoneta’s baseball team past Elida 1-0 in a Western Buckeye League game Wednesday.



Prior to the 11th inning, Wapakoneta’s Johnny Crawford and Elida’s Jake Porter locked horns in a bitter pitching duel but neither earned the decision. Crawford struck out eight and walked one but got no decision. Porter also got no decision, striking out 14 and walking six.



A.J. Etzkorn pitched the bottom of the inning to get the win.



Elida falls to 0-11 overall, 0-2 in the WBL.



Bluffton 2, Ottoville 0



OTTOVILLE — Bluffton sophomore pitcher Jordan Skilliter threw a one-hitter, striking out 11 and walking six for the Pirates in the non-league win.



Drake Luginbuhl doubled and had two hits for Bluffton (5-4) while Nate Risner smacked two hits. Luke Schimmoeller took the loss, striking out seven and walking none for Ottoville (2-4).



Delphos St. John’s 9, Fort Jennings 2



DELPHOS — Curtis Geise struck out 10, walked four and gave up just three hits as the Blue Jays beat non-league visiting Fort Jennings. Geise also doubled and singled for DSJ (3-5), Andrew Metzger doubled twice for St. John’s, Troy Warnecke doubled, Ryan Buescher tripled and T.J. Hoersten had two singles for the Blue Jays.



Leipsic 8, Cory-Rawson 4



LEIPSIC — Dylan Schey improved his pitching record to 2-0 with a win on the mound and he doubled at the plate for the Vikings (4-3) in the win. Tyler Harris doubled for Cory-Rawson (2-5).



Tennis



Shawnee 5, LCC 0



SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Jason Barton, Avinash Rahasekaran and Ruthvic Avvari each won in singles play for Shawnee. In doubles, Josh Thomas-Carter Jones and Scott Jettinghoff-Prudvi Battula teamed for wins. Shawnee is 4-2 overall while LCC is 4-3.



Wapakoneta 3, Bellefonatine 2



WAPAKONETA — Zach Holtzapple won at No. 2 singles for Wapakoneta in the non-league victory. In doubles play, Joe Pitts and Jordan Dodds won at No. 1 for Wapak while Justin Dauch and Colton Place won at No. 2.



Softball



Elida 10, Ottoville 0



ELIDA — Sabrina Kline smacked two singles, a triple and had three RBIs for Elida in the non-league win. Aryanna Brown tripled and singled for Elida (4-4) while Ericka Kiel doubled and had two RBIs. Brown also got the pitching win, striking out seven and walking one.



Toledo CC 14, Lima Senior 2



LIMA — Amanda Daglio took the pitching loss as Lima Senior fell to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference. Toledo Central Catholic is 2-4, 2-0.



Hardin Northern 7, Arcadia 4



ARCADIA — Molly Wilson homered, singled, scored three runs and had two RBIs as Hardin Northern won the Blanchard Valley Conference game. Lea Rowe also homered and drove in two for the Polar Bears (6-2, 2-1), Becky McElree and Hannah Fisher each doubled. Abby Bame got the win.
