Kalida clinches share of PCL crown

COLUMBUS GROVE - Kalida clinched a share of the Putnam County League volleyball championship with a 3-2 victory over Columbus Grove Monday.

Kalida notched a 25-22, 10-25, 25-17, 21-25, 16-14 victory.

Jess Knueve's 14 kills paced Kalida. Ashley Remlinger had 13 kills and five aces. Julia Fuerst had 10 kills. Trisha Horstman had five kills and six assists.

Amy VonderEmbse contributed 23 assists for Kalida. Stacy Heitmeyer had 20 digs.

Kalida (17-2, 5-0 PCL) will travel to Pandora-Gilboa in a PCL match tonight.

 

 

 

Kinsey Wenning had 15 kills for Fort Recovery. Kelsey Wuebker had 22 assists. Joanne Snyder had 21 digs.

 

 

 

For the Lancers, Stacy Giessler had nine kills and 11 digs. Paige McClure notched 13 assists.

The match at Middle Point raised almost $1,400 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Lincolnview is 5-14.

 

 

 

Nikki Gryzbowski produced 17 assists.

Ada is 13-8. Hardin Northern is 4-14.

 

 

 

O-G stands 11-0-3. Napoleon is 13-1-2.

Cory Ellerbrock, Andrew Trenkamp and Jay Inkrott scored for the Titans.

O-G goalkeeper Nick Leatherman made four saves.

The Titans outshot Napoleon, 10-7.

 

 

 

Alex Contner scored for the Lakers (4-8-3).

 

 

 

LCC outshot Liberty-Benton, 14-12.

LCC's Mark Hawk made nine saves for the victory.

LCC is 9-7. Liberty-Benton is 8-3-3.

 

 

 

Wildcats goalkeeper Jessica Bland made five saves for the shutout. Cory-Rawson goalkeeper Kassi Verhoff had five saves.

Both teams had 11 shots.

Delphos Jefferson is 3-6. Cory-Rawson is 1-7-2.

 

 

 

Amy Reichenbach scored for Bluffton with 13:02 left in the first half to tie the game. Shena Simmons scored for Crestview.

Jonica Schmutz had seven saves for Bluffton. Crestview goalkeeper Kayla Richardson made seven saves.

Crestview outshot Bluffton, 20-15.

Crestview is 5-5-4. Bluffton is 3-11-1.

 

 

 

Fort Jennings goalkeeper Megan Schimmoeller made nine saves for the shutout. Macy Davis-Ferrall had three saves for St. Marys.

Fort Jennings stands 9-3-2.

 

FORT JENNINGS 1, ST. MARYS 0:

Fort Jennings' Kristi Kennedy scored off a direct kick by Katie VonLehmden in the first half to provide the Musketeers with the victory.

 

BLUFFTON 1, CRESTVIEW 1:

Bluffton and Crestview battled to a tie at Convoy.

DELPHOS JEFFERSON 1, CORY-RAWSON 0:

Megan Moreo scored with 22 seconds left in the first half and that was all Delphos Jefferson would need to bump off Cory-Rawson.

 

LCC 2, LIBERTY-BENTON 1:

Lima Central Catholic edged Liberty-Benton behind goals by Jeremy McNamara and Shawn Ritchie.

 

SPRINGFIELD SHAWNEE 3, INDIAN LAKE 1:

Springfield Shawnee held Indian Lake to three shots on goal in a victory over the Lakers. Springfield Shawnee took nine shots.

 

Boys soccer

OTTAWA-GLANDORF 3, NAPOLEON 3:

Ottawa-Glandorf remained unbeaten by battling Napoleon to a 3-3 tie.

 

ADA 3, HARDIN NORTHERN 0:

Ada's Morgan Dumbaugh posted nine kills to power Ada past Hardin Northern. Dumbaugh also had six aces and eight digs.

 

NEW KNOXVILLE 3, LINCOLNVIEW 0:

New Knoxville swept Lincolnview, 25-17, 25-13, 25-8 in a non-league match in the Volley for the Cure event.

 

Volleyball

FORT RECOVERY 3, ANSONIA 1:

Fort Recovery knocked off Ansonia in non-league match, 25-21, 17-25, 25-13, 25-9.
