Roundup: Elida offense erupts in win over Kalida

Jordane Duffy had a home run and a double when Elida rolled to a 12-2 softball win over Kalida on Monday.

 

Kylie Prince went 3 for 4 with three RBIs and Chelsea Slusser had two hits for Elida (8-12) in the non-league game. Duffy's home run was the first for an Elida player in the last two seasons.

 

Kalida dropped to 2-9 on the season.

 

Parkway 4,
Versailles 0

 

Emily Crowell struck out 15 and threw a five-hit shutout for the Panthers (11-5, 3-2 Midwest Athletic Conference).

 

Versailles fell to 12-7 overall and 3-1 in the MAC with the loss.

 

Ottawa-Glandorf 10,
Ottoville 0

 

Three O-G pitchers combined to hold the Big Green to two hits in a five-inning game.

 

Crestview 8,
Delphos Jefferson 0

 

Melissa Eickholt went 3 for 4 and Chelsea Lare threw a four-hit shutout for the Knights.

 

Sammie Hartman had a home run and Kayla Richardson was 2 for 4.

 

Lincolnview 1,
Bluffton 0

 

The Lancers got their only run when Taylor Fries scored on a wild pitch when Bluffton was attempting to intentionally walk Kela Fries in the bottom of the sixth inning.

 

Spencerville 1,
Ada 0

 

The Bearcats won without getting a hit.

 

Brittney Miller got the win on a five-hitter, while Amanda Fullom lost despite throwing a no- hitter.

 

Spencerville scored in the bottom of the second on two walks, a wild pitch and an infield groud out.

 

Bath 6,
Bryan 0

 

Shelby Snyder struck out 11 and threw a two hitter for the Wildkittens. Amanda Ricker and Caitlin Burden had two hits and two stolen bases.

 

Bath is 17-5 and Bryan is 13-5.

 

Baseball

 

Miller City 2,
Holgate 1

 

Cody Vennekotter had a home run and a double for the Wildcats (9-5).

 

Delphos Jefferson 5,
Crestview 1

 

Mike Rahrig allowed a first-inning run, then threw a complete-game two-hitter for the Wildcats. He struck out 12 and walked one.

 

Josh Miller had a pair of doubles for Jefferson (12-5, 5-3 Northwest Conference). Crestview is 11-5 overall and 5-2 in the NWC.

 

Pandora-Gilboa 10,
Cory-Rawson 9

 

Austin Blaski hit a grand-slam home run and Jordan Lehman went 3 for 3 to lead the Rockets (9-9 overall, 5-4 Blanchard Valley Conference).

 

Ottawa-Glandorf 17,
Continental 0

 

Tyler Leatherman had a home run, a double and a single for the Titans, who scored 16 runs in the first three innings.

 

Aaron Leader had two doubles and a single for O-G (13-3). Jake Meyer had a home run and a double.

 

Fairview 7,
Elida 0

 

Ryan Radcliff threw a no-hitter for the Apaches with 15 strikeouts.

 

Coldwater 10,
Marion Local 2

 

Keith Wenning's home run was one of nine extra-base hits for the Cavaliers (17-4, 6-0 Midwest Athletic Conference).

 

Marcus Moeller had a homer for Marion Local (9-10, 2-4 MAC).

 

Parkway 12,
New Bremen 7

 

Parkway scored five runs in the top of the eighth inning to raise its record to 17-3 overall and 4-2 in the Midwest Athletic Conference.

 

Levon Archer went 3 for 3 and Jensen Painter, Drew Luginbill and Joe Dellinger all had two hits.

 

Tennis

 

Elida 5,
Defiance 0

 

Elida (13-2, 9-0 Western Buckeye League) won the three singles matches without losing a game.

 

Ottawa-Glandorf 5,
Bath 0

 

The Titans won for the 11th time in 16 matches and raised their Western Buckeye League record to 9-0.

 

Shawnee 5,
Sandusky Perkins 0

 

The Indians raised their record to 16-3 with their win.
