SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — Chelsea Lingenfelter twirled a one-hitter, striking out 10 and walking four, to raise her record to 6-1 and lead host Shawnee to a 3-0 win over Kenton on Tuesday in a Western Buckeye League softball game.Lingenfelter also tripled and singled for the Indians (7-1, 2-0), Meagan Ream went 2-3 and Brooke Schultz was 1-3 with two RBIs.Kenton falls to 3-3 overall (0-3 WBL).Marion Harding 11, Lima Senior 0Canon Uncapher took the loss in the five-inning game as Lima Senior falls to 0-8 overall.Columbus Grove 6, Miller City 1Pitcher Heather Bartz raised her record to 4-0 for host Columbus Grove in the Putnam County League victory. Paige Gerdeman went 2-4 and Ashley Birchmeier was 2-3 with 2 RBIs for Grove (4-0, 2-0).Miller City falls to 2-4, 1-1.Continental 13, Kalida 0Jessica Hanefeld singled twice and pitched a complete game to grab the PCL win for host Continental. Brooke Tegenkamp slugged a home run for the Pirates (6-1, 1-0) and Marlene Bradley tripled and had two RBIs.Kalida falls to 1-3, 1-1.St. Henry 5, Marion Local 3St. Henry’s Rachel Borgerding went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs in the MAC win over visiting Marion Local.Olivia Hart went 2-3 for the Redskins (2-4). Amanda Puthoff took the loss in the circle for the Flyers, though she struck out 10 batters and walked only two.Van Wert 2, Elida 1Van Wert scored twice in the bottom of the second and made the runs stand in the WBL win over visiting Elida. The Cougars are 8-2 overall, 2-1 in the WBL.New Bremen 10, Botkins 3LeAnn Thieman went 3-4 with an RBI to help the Cardinals to the road victory.Michelle Griesdorn tripled for New Bremen while Jackie Scheer doubled twice and Becca Dwenger doubled. Scheer also pitched a complete game to get the victory.Defiance 2, Ottawa-Glandorf 1Tabbie Tousley pitched a complete game but got the tough-luck loss for the Titans.Tresa Escamilla doubled for O-G, which fell to 3-4.Ottoville 10, Temple Christian 9Adria Wannemacher and Gina Beining each went 2-4 and scored twice for Ottoville in the road win. Pitcher Sami Modica struck out six en route to the win.Janna Ross and Malissa Hastings each went 2-4 with two runs scored for Temple Christian (0-4).BASEBALLShawnee 8, Kenton 0Pitcher Cody Kopilchack was too much, striking out 15 and budging just one hit in the WBL game at Kenton.Kopilchack also doubled for the Indians (9-1, 2-0) while Jarrett Black and Luke Morgan each homered. Chad Spencer and Tyler Gallent both doubled.Kenton falls to 3-5, 0-2).New Bremen 7, New Knoxville 1Corey Jutte allowed one hit over five innings to pitch New Bremen past visiting New Knoxville.Ottoville 4, Delphos Jefferson 2Jordan Schinnoeller went 2-4 for the host Big Green and pitcher Andrew Koch got the win, fanning six.Ottoville raised its record to 2-5, Delphos Jefferson falls to 3-4.Leipsic 5, North Baltimore 4Craig Meyer doubled for the host Vikings while pitcher Nate Schroeder took the win. Leipsic is 5-3.Miller City 2, McComb 0Pitcher Jarod Niese tossed a complete game, allowing a walk, three hits and striking out eight for the visiting Wildcats. Miller City is 4-1.Hardin Northern 13, Waynesfield 3Kyle Albert doubled and singled for visiting Hardin Northern in the win. Nathan Ruhlen and Anthony Hall each singled twice and pitched five innings to get the win for the Polar Bears (1-6).Celina 5, Wapakoneta 2Dustin Woods went 3-3 with a double to lead Celina in the WBL victory at Wapakoneta.Travis Stechler pitched five innings, allowing no walks and two earned runs, to get the win.Columbus Grove 15, Pandora-Gilboa 5Kyle Stechschulte doubled and singled to help Columbus Grove (4-3, which took advantage of 10 P-G errors. Adam Osterhage (2-2) pitched for the victory.Nathan Lee doubled for the Rockets (2-5).St. Henry 10, Delphos St. John’s 0Neal Schwieterman doubled as St. Henry roped eight hits en route to the win.Kirk Metzger tripled for St. John’s, which fell to 2-5. St. Henry raised its record to 10-1.Minster 9, Parkway 0Aaron Heitbring went 3-4 as Minster pounded 11 hits for the MAC victory over host Parkway.Austin Baumer went 2-3 with four RBIs for Minster (8-2, 1-0) and Derek Snyder had two singles. Pitcher Allen Heitbrink raised his record to 9-0.Allen East 9, USV 1Nathan Swaney’s complete game, 13-strikeout performance paced visiting Allen East to the Northwest Conference win.Larry Jackson, Tim Copeland and Curt Yetman each doubled for the Mustangs (2-5, 1-2).Van Wert 13, Elida 0Van Wert banged out 15 hits to win the WBL game at Elida.Austin Anderson (1-1) struck out 11 and allowed three hits to get the win for Van Wert (2-6, 1-1) while Eric Miller doubled. Steve Swick doubled for Elida (2-5, 0-2).Kalida 11, Temple Christian 4Jordan Basinger and Doug McIntyre both homered for Kalida in the win over visiting Temple Christian.Matt Schnipe and McIntyre doubled for Kalida (2-2) and Cody Spicer went 2-3 with two RBIs. Pitcher Preston Ellerbrock struck out eight and walked two to get the win.Brian Hocstettler doubled for Temple Christian.Marion Harding 19, Lima Senior 0Jon Hammond managed the Spartan’s lone hit as they fell to 0-5 overall.Defiance 9, Ottawa-Glandorf 4Dace Kim and Justin Riley each doubled to help visiting Defiance move to 6-1. Adam Wagner (1-1) picked up the win.Trent Haughn doubled for O-G (5-1).Bath 13, St. Marys 5Mat McKinney smoked a home run, singled and finished with five RBIs to lift Bath past host St. Marys.Cory Stephens, Ben Wierman, Brandon Mohr and Matt Loudan each doubled for Bath (5-3) while Zach Sterling went 3-5 with a double. Sterling also pitched to pick up the victory.Sam Rammel and Kenny Bruce each doubled for St. Marys (2-5).TENNISShawnee 5, Kenton 0Sam Rutter, Stephen Tucker and Erich Wade each won a singles match as host Shawnee won the Western Buckeye League match.In doubles, Cody Clark and Andrew Weller won for the Indians (7-1, 4-0) while Shane Grimes and Adam Dellinger won the other match. Kenton falls to 0-7, 0-3.LCC 3, Bluffton 2Brian Bruin won at singles for the Thunderbirds (5-2) while the doubles team of Nate McCullough and Morgan Dew won at No. 1 and Andrew Frankart and Jared Klaus won at No. 2.Bluffton’s Vas Prakhov won a singles match as did teammate Taylor Cox.Marion Harding 5, Lima Senior 0The Spartans fell to 0-6 overall while visiting Harding raised its record to 3-2.Elida 5, Van Wert 0Evan Neuman, Phil Kirkendall and Joe Perrin won singles matches to help Elida raise its record to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the WBL.Lance Blass and Brent Sahagun teamed for a doubles win. Ben Kales and Zach Kerns won at second doubles.Wapakoneta 5, Celina 0Visiting Wapakoneta swept the singles matches as Andrew Hager, Austin Hunt and Andrew Mammone each won a singles match in the WBL tilt.Derek Mankin and Broc Hottle won a doubles match for Wapak (4-1, 3-1). Jackson Waterman and Ben Carter won the other doubles match. Celina falls to 4-4, 2-2.TRACKWapak boys, Shawnee girls winWapakoneta’s boys outscored host Shawnee 83-54 in a WBL meet while the Shawnee girls won 72-65.LCC boys, St. John’s girls win tri-meetLima Central Catholic’s boys track team scored 64 points to win a tri-meet over Elida (60) and Delphos St. John’s (49). Delphos St. John’s won the girls meet (100.5), followed by Elida (39.5) and LCC (35).LCC’s Jim Heider won the 1,600 (4:48.66), the 800 (2:08.08) and the 3,200 (10:45.04).Rachel Miller won the shot put (32-10) and the discus (104-9).
