TEAM OUTLOOK: The Commodores enter the season as a very inexperienced team. They face a tough schedule and need to work hard every night at practice to improve on all facets of the game. One constant for Perry will be a full-court, man-to-man defense.

Upper Scioto Valley
COACH: Aaron Thompson
YEARS, RECORD AT SCHOOL: 2, 6-16
RETURNING LETTER WINNERS: *Brad Pickford, senior, post; *Brandon Overs, junior, guard
PROMISING NEWCOMERS: Luke Boecher, junior, forward; Shane Rofe, sophomore, guard; Austin Eibling, soph., guard; Woody Prater, freshman, post; Dylan Hunsicker, fr., guard
TEAM OUTLOOK: The Rams will be very young with only two lettermen back from last season. Three freshmen and four sophomores will grace the varsity roster this year. Second-year coach Aaron Thompson is pleased with the number of players who are out for basketball. The goal will be day-to-day improvement and finding a happy medium between bad and good spurts of play due to the lack of experience. Defense will have to carry the team until an offensive leader can emerge.
COACH: Ryan Taylor
YEARS, RECORD AT SCHOOL: 1, 0-0
RETURNING LETTER WINNERS: Cory Hickman, senior, post; Connor Mortimer, sr., guard; Jake Frank, junior, guard
PROMISING NEWCOMERS: Jake Waitman, senior, post; Kyle Waitman, sr., post; Dylan Little, sophomore, guard
TEAM OUTLOOK: The Tigers will be under the tutelage of first-year head coach Ryan Taylor, who brings a long history of association with the Waynesfield-Goshen system. A 1997 graduate, Taylor went on to play four years at Wittenberg before coaching the Allen East junior varsity team for five years and last year serving as the Waynesfield varsity assistant.
The Tigers hope to be a high energy, run-the-floor type of team this year. They will be a man-to-man team, defensively, and will operate out of the 4-1 and 3-2 motion offense.
Waynesfield will rely heavily on a trio of returning letter winners to provide early season stability. That trio consists of seniors Cory Hickman and Connor Mortimer along with junior Jake Frank.
We need to focus on what we need to do to be successful. Taylor said. We must play with pride, have discipline, and be accountable to one another.
The Tigers were 5-16 last season and went 3-4 in the Northwest Central Conference.
