I am coming off a tough week.

I have been fighting a cold/sinus/throat problem for the past 10 days, actually-ever since not dressing properly for a Browns game in Cleveland the Sunday before.

How bad has it been?

After doing my radio show and eating dinner, I would literally go home and right to bed from election night through last Thursday. Ugh.

When you have a cold/sinus/throat problem and you try to talk on the radio for a living, it is a tough thing to do.

I tried everything over the counter while making sure that I got rest and plenty of fluids. Cough medicine, cold medicine, sinus medicine, cough drops and spray. You name it and I tried it.

Not working.

Hello.

And to combat my frustrations, both the Buckeyes and Browns were in bye weeks this past weekend. When has that happened before?

Here I am, house-ridden, and my favorite college football team and NFL team are both not playing. Life is tough.

All right, donít feel too sorry for me. I still watched college football Saturday and the NFL red zone channel Sunday, but itís not the same.

I am looking forward to this weekend, though.

The Buckeyes are at Wisconsin Saturday afternoon and the Browns visit the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

And I decided to pay the money and go to the doctor to get rid of my cold/sinus/throat problem.

Iím feeling better already.

OTHER KOZA THOUGHTS:

ē Ever since South Carolina head football coach Steve Spurrier mouthed off about Alabama being able to beat NFL teams, the Crimson Tide had to rally to win at LSU and then lost at home to Texas A & M.

Guess there is a ďSpurrier jinx.Ē It looks like we will have a new national champion which I think is good for college football.

*Raise your hand if you think college basketball starts too early. Canít we wait until after Thanksgiving to begin talking hoops? Iím still in football mode.

*That being said, has anyone watched the NBA in its early stages this season? ESPNís Brian Windhorst tells me that he is most impressed with the Miami Heat and they are well on their way to a repeat NBA championship. Figures.

*What would a football Friday night be without a lightning delay? We had another one last Friday and it came out of nowhere. The St. Henry/Ada game was delayed more than an hour, but the cool thing was the number of cars that we saw drive back into the stadium to watch the resumption of play.

*We still have a number of Limaland teams remaining on the road to Canton/Massillon. Interesting. that we have lost several area teams because they have had to play other Limaland schools in the state playoffs.

And when you talk about the Midwest Athletic Conference, four teams still remain. Minster was eliminated by MAC rival Marion Local last Friday. This Friday, the Flyers take on conference rival St. Henry. Marion Local beat the Redskins 38-22 in their regular season matchup.

*Finally, congratulations to Marion Localís volleyball program. Last weekend it won a state championship for the fourth time since 2007. Thatís an incredible run.
