MIDDLETOWN — Adrine Mitchell ran for a pair of touchdowns and threw a TD pass as Lima Senior opened its season with a 34-14 victory Friday night against Middletown.

Mitchell finished with 121 yards rushing on 21 carries and completed 11 of 17 pass attempts for 172 yards. His TD pass was to Jaleel King on a 77-yard play. King also had a 33-yard TD pass to Jermaine Daniels. Xavier Nichols, who finished with 113 yards rushing, had a TD run of 113 yards also for the Spartans.

Elida 42, Tiffin Columbian 20

ELIDA — Isaac Adams threw for four touchdown passes and ran for another. McAdams completed 29 of 40 passes for 372 yards and rushed for 83 yards on 17 carries. Daniel Unruh and KeShawn Spivey each had a pair of TD receptions for the host Bulldogs (1-0). Unruh had 10 receptions for 169 yards and Spivey caught five passes for 75 yards. Elida’s Calvin Brown had a 37-yard TD run on his only carry of the night. Billy Jahnz had eight total tackles and Mike Purdy had seven tackles, a sack and two tackles for losses for the Bulldogs.

Ada 40, Upper Scioto Valley 7

MCGUFFEY — Seth Conley had four touchdown passes, completing 7 of 14 throws for 165 yards. All three of Aaron Everhart’s receptions were for touchdowns. He finished with 89 yards. He also had a TD run and rushed for 107 yards on three carries.

Coldwater 35, Kenton 28

COLDWATER — Sam Broering had a TD run and throw, Brad Giere and Ben Wenning had scoring runs and Jacob Wenning had a touchdown reception for the host Cavaliers. Giere also returned a fumble for a score. Jason Sharp had two TD throws, completing 14 of 28 attempts for 194 yards, Landon Rush had 91 yards and two TDs on four carries and Jayden Cornell and Alex Stephens each had TD runs for Kenton.

Sidney 39, St. Marys 32

SIDNEY — Isaiah Bowser’s 4-yard TD run with 2:17 remaining gave the hosts the victory. Colin Clements completed five of six pass attempts for 123 yards and two touchdowns to Braden Dunlap, who finished with three receptions for 87 yards, and Sean Perry had 105 yards rushing and a TD on 16 carries for St. Marys.

Fort Recovery 27, Lehman Catholic 21 (OT)

FORT RECOVERY — Cade Wendel completed a 3-yard TD pass to Ryan Braun in overtime for the win.

Marion Local 35, Chaminade Juliennne 7

MARIA STEIN — Nathan Bruns completed nine of 13 pass attempts for 122 yards and two touchdowns, one each to Nick Tangeman and Matt Rethman, and Nolan Habodasz had 86 yards rushing and TD on 13 carries for the host Flyers. Henry Keller also had a couple of scoring runs for Marion Local.

Leipsic 7, Patrick Henry 6

LEIPSIC — Jaun Pena’s extra point kick following Dylan Schroeder’s 64-yard run in the third quarter proved to be the difference. Schroeder finished with 113 yards on 14 attempts.

Van Wert 27, Bryan 7

BRYAN — The Cougars won after going 0-10 in 2016. No other information was reported by deadline.
