Lincolnview students receive new technology

MIDDLE POINT — All of the students in Lincolnview schools came together Tuesday to kick off the school year, but also to announce the new technology students will have access to.Due to district funding and a Ohio Department of Education grant, the district was able to purchase 40 Dell laptops and carts, 630 Chromebooks, six Chromebook carts, 35 iMac computers for a new Mac lab, 30 Sanyo Document Cameras, 35 Smart Podiums, 12 Smart Boards and Smart Software and 100 LearnPads and Mobile Carts with management, according to Jeff Snyder, superintendent.

Lima sewer rates set to increase over 3 years

LIMA — Residents of Lima will see an increase in their water sewer rates, Councilman Sam McLean said Monday.The resolution that passed said the county will authorize the issuance and sale of sanitary sewer system improvement revenue bond series in 2014 under the Ohio Constitution of maximum aggregate principal amount of $17.25 million to pay costs of improving the sanitary sewer collection and treatment system of the city.

Unemployment rate down in Allen, surrounding counties

LIMA — Unemployment decreased in Allen County from July to August in all nine area counties.The rate is down from 6.1 percent to 5.1 percent in Allen County in August.
