NIE is an acronym for Newspaper-In-Education, a world-wide effort on the part of individual local newspapers to aid educators in making the important transfer of classroom learning to daily life. The Lima News NIE is a program that uses the daily newspaper in Northwest and West Central Ohio classrooms as a "living textbook." Future leaders can view the world through the newspaper. An educator can use the newspaper to teach almost any subject to any student on any level and improve their reading and test scores. NIE is a bridge between the student and their school, community, county, state, nation, continent, world, and the entire universe.
