LIMA — With October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month nationally, the Crossroads Crisis Center kicked off the awareness campaign locally at the Lima Public Library Wednesday.“If people have never been involved, the often do not understand the depth of the problem,” said Donna Dickman with Partnership for Violence Free Families. “They don’t understand what they can do to help someone.”The crisis center donated two new books on the topic of domestic violence Monday. Immediately following, the crowd of a little more than 40 people participated in an awareness walk to Town Square.

Letter: ‘Mystery woman’ tale excluded childhood

Front-page headline in The Lima News: “‘Mystery woman’ tells her story.”It seems quite significant that Ann Marie Miller fails to reveal anything about her childhood experiences. Our personal story doesn’t begin post-high school as she would have us believe in this long account recorded here.It seems sad that this troubled lady refuses to reveal exactly where her life began, who were the parents that raised her and how did she react to sibli...
