Letter: Runaround in fight against cancer

Virginia Oglesbee, Lima

My husband was diagnosed with cancer in November 2011. It was discovered by his primary physician, who sent him to an ear, nose and throat specialist, who sent him to an oncologist, who sent him to a radiologist, who sent him to a dentist, who didn't have time to pull a tooth. Three months later, we are right back where we started.

Oh, I forgot he was also sent to a heart specialist by his ear, nose and throat specialist. He has taken this test and that test all the while this enemy is growing in his body. His radiologist has now sent him to a gastroenterologist, who will put in a feeding tube that he may or may not use. Yet this enemy is still growing in his body. He has to take a PET scan after his CT scan to see where this enemy has decided to go.

My nerves are frazzled, my brain is dazzled, by all the commotion which has stressed my emotions. Where do we go from here? Someone please put a buzz in my ear.
