Letter: Support needed for Relay for Life

PATSY SPRING, LimaAs team recruiter for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Lima, I would like to invite everyone to get involved and attend the Relay from 6 p.m. Friday, June 13, to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at the Allen County Fairgrounds.All cancer survivors are invited to be a part of the survivor’s lap and reception, which will take place at 6 p.m. June 13. The luminary ceremony to begin at dusk June 13 will be inspirational and moving as we honor survivors and remember those who have lost the fight.This is our 14th year and one concern we’ve heard year after year is that we don’t have very much advertising and coverage of the event. We would love all the media to come and show the viewing and reading public how spectacular this event is. We also welcome any business, church, civic group or family group to be involved as sponsors or to form a team.The Relay’s motto is “It’s about a community that takes up the fight.” The money we raise helps so much in the fight against cancer.
