Buyer beware in conducting business
This letter is a public service announcement to notify the people in our area that all the crooks are not in Washington, D.C.
We were recently approached by a young man who needed medicine for a sick child. Other needs were also later mentioned. We were told he was skilled at roofing, and if we helped his family out, he would repay us by doing some roof repairs to a property of ours.
He lived in a village nearby, where we know there are good people. Also, there were some actual medical needs we knew about. And so it ended up we were fooled into paying him in advance for some of the roofing materials, which were never delivered. Also, the work was never done.
Be careful who you do business with.
