We in Ohio finally have a chance to show our compassion for the ill and dying of our state. House Bill 478 would allow seriously injured and terminally ill Ohioans to use a safe and proven, non-addictive medicine to treat their conditions.
I have been living in hell for 17 years because of my advancing degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis. I should not have to worry about being arrested just for treating my condition in a safe and effective manner. Through judicious use of small doses of marijuana with my medication, my quality of life is better, and I am even able to stop using these painkillers for short periods of time to ensure I do not become addicted to these dangerous opiates.
This is not “political suicide” as politicians would have you, the public, believe, because more than 73 percent of all Ohioans support medical cannabis. Opposing this bill only shows their disregard for the wishes of the people of Ohio.
Please contact your state representatives and urge them to act with compassion as well. Please Support House Bill 478 and the Ohio Patient Network.
