Ada schools deserve our support
First, let me say that I write this letter to you not as a parent, but as a community member and educator.
Our students are our future. As anyone around Ada can tell you, and what I have noticed in my short time here: the students in Ada schools have benefited from not only an excellent education but also its sports, music, and the arts — all things which are supported by our taxes. Every voter should want families to put Ada at the top of their list for places they want to raise a family and get the best education possible.
Looking at Main Street you will see many opportunities for business growth — when businesses scout out new locales, one of the first things they look at is the school system. Strong schools represent a community that cares about what it produces — every single student.
Heretofore, Ada has had a great tradition of excellence and it would be not only a shame, but a travesty to put our record of success in jeopardy. As the director of the Ada Public Library and someone who believes strongly in education, I believe there are a lot of residents who share my bias and passion for this city and the schools.
It is time to stand up and send the message that our schools are an investment and of foremost importance in this village. They deserve our continued support.
