Graduation, the culmination of 13 years of education, thatís what itís all about for educators.

From kindergarten to the last day of their senior year, educators prepare children for that next phase of their lives. Included in that group of educators are not just teachers but also the cafeteria workers who cooked for them, custodians who cleaned up after them, administrators who encouraged and maybe even disciplined them, coaches and directors who taught them the meaning of discipline and teamwork, and finally school board members who set policy to build the framework for all of the above to take place.

So it seems logical that a board member who truly cares about the students of their district would want to celebrate this eventful occasion.

That wasnít the case at Elidaís graduation. Two board members were missing. Get on the schoolís website and read the board minutes and youíll see one of the same two board members has not attended a meeting since February. These circumstances are interesting given the fact that these same two board members always claim to have the best interests of the district in mind.

Actions speak louder than words.
