Perry Township voters
should stay the course
Perry Township taxpayers should be told the whole story around the new tax levy being proposed by our trustees. The proposed new levy will put the money raised into the general fund instead of the fire fund, like the levy it will be replacing. This will allow the trustee’s to make all decisions on how the funds are spent.
As a taxpayer and a volunteer on the fire department for more than 20 years, the money that has always been earmarked for the fire department should stay that way and not be put in the general fund. Do the math Perry Twp. residents and I think you will agree, if this levy passes and the fire levy is dropped in the fall, then the fire department will suffer. It will take all of the proposed levy funding to cover the short fall, so where does the fire department fit in when this money is gone? Please contact our trustees and ask how this will fix the funding and not short fall a very well run fire department.
