The parks have
walked the talk
This primary election on May 7 will include a 3/4 mill replacement levy for the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District. This millage for the levy has remained the same since 1993 and deserves our continued support.
I have been a volunteer and supporter of the park district for over 20 years and have continually seen how hard the park district works to maximize their operating funds. Even with deep cuts in funding the park district has been able to maintain and enhance facilities and programs. The citizens of Allen County can utilize the 12 different parks every day, 365 days of the year.
I can’t help but think how fortunate the citizens of Allen County are to have these 12 “Quality of Life” parks spread throughout Allen County. Each park has its own unique characteristics, whether its nature, passive outdoor recreations, historic or patriotic, your Metro Parks have it.
Let’s continue the progress. Join my family and me on May 7th and vote FOR the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District levy.
