Allen County Fair should cancel tiger show
The Allen County Fairís General Manager, David Grimm, recently announced that Bengal tigers will be featured at the 2013 Allen County Fair.
Eight tigers will be brought to the small fair to do three shows per day, each a half-hour long.
Bengal tigers have been classified as an endangered species by The International Union for Conservation of Nature in 2010. These exotic animals were not created to be crated, controlled and exploited under a tent, for the entertainment of humans. It is cruel and inhumane treatment of wild animals.
The Allen County Fair would be supporting the captivity, mistreatment and exploitation of Bengal tigers, for entertainment purposes, by hosting this event at the upcoming Allen County Fair in August 2013. I have attended the fair for many years and will not be going this year if the Allen County Fair board does not cancel this event.
I have also started an online petition, requesting the fair board cancel this act. If we wonít be the voice for these beautiful, exploited, Bengal tigers, who will?
