Appleseed parks

a plus for community

The Lima/Allen County community is truly blessed to have such wonderful parks and a very efficient park district. Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District has maintained the parks on a very slim budget to compensate for various tax cuts over the last few years. The Park District has been very diligent about reducing costs throughout the years to provide our citizens with a positive experience when visiting our parks.

I really appreciate the parks that we have in our community. I used the parks often for walking, bicycling, family functions and just experiencing nature. The Park District provides so many educational programs for children, youth and adults. They have provided several amenities to the park such as swimming, camping, nature presentations, natural trails, fishing, historical and nature exhibits just to name a few.

When people and businesses are interested in moving to our community they look at the amenities that our community has to offer. The parks are very high on the list of their considerations. If we want to entice businesses and individuals to locate here we must have a well maintained park district.

Eighty percent of the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District is dependent on the proposed current tax levy. Remember, there is no new millage requested. I encourage you to support the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District. It is an amenity that our community cannot afford to lose!
