Truck traffic tearing up roads

Recently, the Lost Creek subdivision was attacked with tractor-trailers and dump trucks crossing through from the north side of Lost Creek to state Route 309 on their way to the East Fourth Street construction site on Interstate 75.

I was told by Ohio Department of Transportations’ Chris Hughes that trucks would not be coming through Lost Creek, but recently they have had a large parade of trucks coming through. They meet on our narrow streets and have to drive into our yard to pass.

I tried to call Hughes several times and left messages but got no response. I wrote a letter to Rhonda Pees of ODOT expressing my concerns.

There are other routes that can be taken that support truck traffic. We just had the streets replaced last year and now they are being torn up by this large truck traffic.

The drive down Bryn Mawr Avenue to Wellesly Drive to Willard Avenue is not the best route. They could go Reservoir Road to North Mumaugh Road to Route 309, it may be longer but safer. Also, if they put a stop light up at Bryn Mawr Avenue and Reservoir Road would be a great help to all who travel that route.
