Points to remember
about Elida schools
A little something to think about. Don Zlotnik has been very negative toward the Elida Schools for years, maybe this can help others think about Elida in different way.
Point one. The governor said Elida Local Schools will get an additional $774,401. The House plan now has changed that to $410,000. Now it is in the hands of the Senate, it could change again. My point is this: Do the math; if the state take away $2.3 million dollars over five years and then gives you $410,000 or $774,401, is that really an increase?
Point two. The land that the new high school sits on was not available to the school prior to the bond issue passing in March of 2008. Sometimes things just work out. In retrospect, it was a good thing for the Elida community that the bond issue went down the first two times. Otherwise, the new high school would be setting beside the Allen County Wastewater Treatment Plant. Now that is not a cut on the ACWWTP, it is an outstanding facility also, but if even you had a choice, wouldn’t you rather have it as a centerpiece of the community?
Point three. The transparency is there, all you need to do is show up.
Point four. You know Donald, I would also think that you agree that you are either part of the problem or part of the solution. You consider yourself one of communities best and brightest, why don’t you run for school board and solve all the problems? Try catching spears instead of throwing them.
