Modifying food sources nothing new
Chuck Norris (June 8), like others, wants us to avoid genetically modified organisms in our food.
Any new thing can of course be bad, but we have modified our food sources genetically for thousands of years, even if less “scientifically.” People have selected the best yielding and most disease-resistant strains of both plants and animals, with results that we depend on now for our very survival.
Let’s avoid any knee-jerk opposition to further modifications just because they are new, at least until they are really tested.
