Congratulations Craig Bradford, Missy VanMeter, (an employee of Shawnee township) and Mark Bishop, ( councilman for the Village) for your victorious win to dissolve the village of Fort Shawnee. “To the Victors go the Spoils!” After all, this is a Democracy and the people have voted!
Now comes a huge responsibility on your part. With the win comes a bigger problem. In warfare, the “victors” do not always win in the way they thought. The spoils can be expensive. If I were the Mayor of Fort Shawnee, I would gracefully bow out, resign, and hand over the responsibility of dissolving the village to the “victors”. The above three, should be put in charge of the dissolving the Village. They should be the ones to work with the to finance the money needed. You conquered the Fort and you won! Now you should be held responsible for the consequences. After all, you have all the answers!
On the other hand, the people who voted to keep the village intact should have no responsibility to help you cover the expenses of disincorporation. Congrats!
