Are the Putnam County commissioners printing money? The payoff with unemployment benefits to the unjustly terminated elections director was more than $100,000 because of incompetence from the Elections Board. Board head Marie Heitmeyer said on television that it wasn't costing the county one dime. How many dimes is $100,000?There were raises from this board to the elections director and assistant director. They can't run elections.Commissioners oversee 90 employees who work 35 hours and get paid for 40, costing the county $3.1 million over 10 years. Yawn! From Job & Family Services head Kim Diamond, “We want a piece of the pie.” After splitting $35,000 in tax money last summer, “I have four who want buyouts.” Commissioners say, “Go ahead, take more tax dollars, split them among you.” He did.Recently, 53 employees received bonuses averaging $500 each because the poor dears who work 35 hours and get paid for 40 haven't received raises for two years. Compare that to seniors who didn't get raises in Social Security for two years. Ho-hum!Brand new judge says, “I'm up for dessert because I have unused sick leave from the old job.” Commissioners say, “Your wish is our command. Here's $28,000.” Commissioners say, “Awesome, there's more where that came from.” They mean us.Don't bother the commissioners. They don't answer to the public.
