Saturday cartoon

was slanderous

I didnít appreciate the political cartoon (speaking of holding women in captivity) in Saturdayís paper comparing the Republican Party with the sleaze ball Ariel Castro, who kidnapped, raped and tortured three young girls over a 10-year period. I couldnít believe The Lima News sided with such low life misrepresentation of a political party. How can anyone compare any political party in the United States with this monster from Cleveland?

I suppose the cartoonist, of whom I canít quite read his name, has every right to his biased opinion of the Republican Party. however, for the Lima news to pick and print this is certainly not up to their usual fair and ethical standards of reporting. I realize the editors have every right to choose what is printed in their paper just as I have every right to choose whether to buy any more papers from them. There is plenty of room to criticize both parties on some of the lame statements and ideas that come from our leaders in Washington. I just donít think either partyís policies compares to the horrors those young women suffered.

I hope in the future the Lima News Editors choose wisely of their political satires and can see that the GOP deserves an apology for such slander.
