We all benefit by ending world poverty

Our economy is a daily topic of conversation, and many people think of it as having to do solely with the United States.

The truth is that 95 percent of potential consumers live outside of the United States, and 45 percent of our exports go to developing nations. The good news is that developing nations are becoming consumers, and world poverty has been greatly reduced in many parts of the world.

We have a duty to support these developing nations, not just because it is the moral thing to do but because we will all benefit in the long run.

The Borgen Project is a nonprofit organization focused on the goal of eradicating world poverty. We want Americans to know that successes are taking place daily in the fight against world poverty, but that there is still so much devastation to overcome.

The Borgen Project encourages Americans to be involved in foreign policy regarding world poverty. Call your senators and representatives and let them know that you support funding for U.S. Agency for International Development. We are changing our economy one foreign policy at a time.
