A big thanks for support of convention
We just completed hosting the 2013 National Trappers Association Convention at the Allen County Fairgrounds, and I want to thank many individuals and the community for all their help and support.
An undertaking that size takes a lot of planning and organization; it was a pleasure working with Dave Grimm, your manager at the fairgrounds. Dave definitely has organizing and planning down to an art. A lot of little things came up during the convention that we needed help with. A lot of these little things made the experience for the attendees so much nicer that the buzz among the trappers has been “best convention ever.”
Sharree and the Lima Allen County Convention and Visitors Bureau have been a part of this event since we submitted the bid two years ago. The project manager for Ohio Department of Transportation for the updates on progress and setting up the electronic billboards to help alleviate what could have been a bad situation, and the Allen County Health Department and the Perry Fire Department for working with us ahead of time so we didn’t have bad situations to alleviate.
A huge thank-you to Lowell Hoy and the kids with the Allen County Sharp Shooters 4-H club, they provided us many eager hands and were a lifesaver when it came time to set up and help dealers unload. The Tri State Gun Show came through big with the donation of table and chair use and the Allen County Conservation Club running the kids fishing derby.
A lot of the workload rested on my shoulders, and I’d like to thank my wife, Carol, for putting up with it.
