View from inside Apollo is impressive
I am a retired teacher from the Ohio Department of Corrections. I also taught in the Adult Education program at Apollo for 15 years. After I retired, I was a substitute teacher at Apollo for 12 years. So I have a good knowledge of the programs offered for high school students and in the adult programs. I canít say enough good things about them. My son graduated from Apollo and got his start in his field taking an HVAC course that I taught there. He is now teaching at a college in Florida and is a department head.
The state has offered to provide Apollo with almost $23 million to make some improvements and additions that are badly needed. All we have to do is pass the levy to provide matching funds for this and the needed improvements to the buildings. Apollo is one school that is not coming every year asking for money (last time was 1996). The money that the school gets is used very wisely and they manage to get the most out of every dollar spent. The teachers there are the best and do a great job. I am on a fixed income and any extra taxes are hard on me, but I will gladly support his levy just as strongly as I can and urge each and every one of you to do the same. We have a jewel in this school so letís keep it going and growing.
