Lucente column profiled all blacks
I am sure that Thomas J. Lucente Jr.ís columns are for the purpose of getting people talking. I had to say his comments in the July 21 paper went a bit overboard. Bit as I say, thatís my own opinion. The Zimmerman case will be talked about for years to come, who was right, and who was wrong.
Should the laws be changed or shouldnít they? I think they should, but thatís just me .
He said the justice system worked, sort of. That really means it didnít. He then called the killing of an unarmed teenager a simple defense shooting. Of a thug. I doubt that would be the case if it had been one of his family members shot while walking home from the store.
What is he doing, besides trying his best to cause racial divide as well? Does he really think the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People makes a living by spreading hate? He then refers to Trayvon Martin as a 17-year-old, marijuana smoking, gun toting, gangsta wannabe.
Then he goes on to say that Zimmerman profiled Martin. But rightly so, because so many black men commit crimes. He really needs to check his information on that one. Look up crimes by 17-year-olds and see what you get.
In the end he refers to the killing of an unarmed teenager as nothing more than poor judgment.
I feel sorry for Lucente. I was taught at a very young age that people are people. We all have the same hopes and fears, and all want our children to be successful no matter what their color.
