Appleseed Park director runs a tight program
I am lending my endorsement to the renewal of the 0.75-mill Replacement Levy for our Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Parks. Does our community realize the asset we have in our Metro Parks? Perhaps more importantly, do we realize the asset we have in Kevin Haver, the long-time dedicated Director of these parks? Having known Kevin personally for many years of his service to the Johnny Appleseed Parks I can testify to his expertise and knowledge of what it takes to manage and guide this program. His dedicated and relentless efforts over the years have built our parks system into a model of excellence to be envied by others.
First passed in the spring of 1993, this ĺ mill levy has remained the primary source of funding for the entire operation and improvements in the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District. Kevin Haver and his hard working staff have always demonstrated common sense and good judgment in using the funds allotted their operation to the best of their abilities. With the pending cuts from the Ohio legislature they will have to become even better guardians of the funds this renewal will generate. These cuts are estimated to be in the area of $255,000 per year. Please lend your support by voting yes on this renewal levy. Letís help this valuable asset in our community continue to be just that.
