On Sunday afternoon around 4 p.m., around 800 customers near Reservoir Road lost their electric power.
It was a cold, windy, snowy day, and the Super Bowl was scheduled for 6:30 p.m. When I reported in to the AEP 800 line, they knew about it and said that a transformer had burned, and they hoped to have power restored sometime after 5:30.
When the power did come back at 6:00, many people were relieved for a number of reasons. I was especially thankful for the dedicated AEP crew who braved the elements and got the job done before houses got too cold and before one of the best Super Bowls in history got started.
